"Great staff made the stay exceptional"

The hotel was comfortable. It is an old building and is as well maintained as one can expect. The staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous and helpful. The dinner menu wasn't extensive, but everything was well prepared and presented. The breakfast was really good.

"Stay clear"

The room was so hot. The windows didn't open fully and there were no fans or air con. One of the worst sleeps I've had in years. The net curtains were old and ripped, there were spiders ontop of the nets and dirt around the window sills. We loved Buxton but would never visit this hotel again.

If you have a dog check they have a pet friendly room before booking through Hotels.com, then contact hotel to confirm if doing online. Booked a different guesthouse first and got caught out as when I rang the hotel to check on something was told that room wasn't dog friendly so lost my Tesco vouchers that I'd used as couldn't transfer to use at a different hotel. Staff here are excellent, evening food excellent. Breakfast good, slightly limited choice on cereal ( no muesli or granola) cooked breakfast excellent. Would definitely stay again, close to centre to walk into town. Rated cleanliness of room lower as white dog hairs on carpet even though door hanger tab said deep cleaned and checked. Stayed on Sunday night so quiet, most places don't seem to serve food Sunday evening but hotel did and was excellent. Thank you

Comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. We have stayed here a number of times and will return. A few minutes walk from the Town Centre and its facilities but located in a quiet area.
