We really enjoyed out stay at this hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially the lady on reception. Our breakfast was very good and varied. Standard of cleanliness was excellent. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Cold Building Warm Staff"

We were first allocated a room in the Annex (43) this was like a fridge and the heating did not work, when I called reception a waiter was sent around to fix the room heating which he couldn't do. We were moved to a room in the main hotel the room was slightly warmer the main source of heat was the Bathroom towel rail. OUR BOOKING WAS FEBRUARY 2022 and it was a wet and cold weekend. The communal areas of the hotel were also very cold, colder than the rooms, so we were not able to relax, thaw out and dry off whilst having snacks and drinks. In the evenings all the communal areas were still very cold and no heating was available in the Bar area, guests were sat in coats whilst waiting for taxis to take them to warmer bars and pubs. The food was nice and hot which was welcomed. I will say the staff at the hotel more than make up for what the building lacks, they are friendly, polite, helpful and happy, the staff get an 11 out of 10. The Hotel is going through a refurb which is why the heating was not working, it would have been nice to know this in advance. On the whole it was a nice weekend break, due to the location we may try it again in the Summertime. I travel through work and have usually been in hotels 4 nights per week, this is a lower end hotel and does NOT deserve the "Best Western Plus" branding.

Lovely hotel. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and polite. Great location for visiting Buxton, walking distance into the centre.

Lovely, friendly staff. Clean room with everything I needed. Only criticism was the droning noise in the morning, sounded like some equipment kicking in, lasted an hour or so. Other than that, an excellent stay.

The hotel was clean and tidy with that "Old Fashioned" feel about it. The best aspect of this hotel was the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Georgia seemed to be everywhere and at all times with her friendly smile and ability to provide anything that we needed. All the other staff were equally happy to help us when asked. I will stay here on future visits to Buxton.
