Ruthin Castle Hotel

Great hotel if you want to stay in a castle it is kept to a good standard considering it is a castle , the staff are more than helpful and are all wanting to please you , we had evening meal which was very good which we both enjoyed, we are on a gluten free diet and it was no problem at all for them, the breakfast the next day was also really good , the grounds are also very nice to walk around and explore, we both enjoyed staying here thanks to all the hard working staff we most likely will return

Beautiful castle and surrounding, although room update is required. Carpets and furniture worn out. A tiny TV in the biggest room of the castle(Prince of Wales), need atleast 55 inch smart tv for the suxe of the room. Staff were lovely and polite. Altogether lovely castle hotel apart from the some renovation and changes which are needed.

We had a Sunday lunch bought for us so as it was our wedding anniversary I booked a room for the night, a suite room, having a bedroom & separate comfy room. They were excellent although some distance from the reception & dining room.There were outside covered jaquises which we did not have time to use.We did however walk round the gardens which are well kept. The food was a roast which was good. Staff friendly & helpful. We would book again.

Check in was easy, bedrooms a good size and very comfortable beds. Heated towel rail & extractor not working. Tea & coffee facilities and a room safe. Cleaning staff could be a little more attentive during the stay. Food is very good quality and very well cooked, delightful dining room staff, thanks to Rory, Alex & Beth. Will return in the future to this ancient castle complete with peacocks!

We had a very pleasant 3 days stay it’s our third time here and we are looking forward to our next visit

What a lovely hotel to stay at, the groubds are absolutely amazing. You can sit outside with peacocks roaming around you. You have admire the beautiful ruins in the gardens and take cracking photos. Food was lovely and he staff were great. I will stay here again.

We were met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist and this set the positive scene that was repeated by all the staff we met for the whole of the visit. The food was excellent along with the service that came with it. The hotel is as expected ie an old building in need of some repair that was full of atmosphere and history. The gardens, inhabited by the beautiful resident peacocks were well maintained and nice to walk around. We were only there for a weekend break but I could visualise how lovely it would be as a wedding venue, especially if they were as lucky with the weather as we were. I would happily return for a longer break in the future.

Was very disappointed with spa and hotel so run down and terrible bedding, was taken ill around 9.00am on 1st march really bad stomach flu horrific stomach pain, horrendous getting home yesterday afternoon, absolutely wiped out today and so weak and fever symptoms
