Moxy Southampton

We stayed here the night before a cruise (and it seems like most of the hotel was doing the same!). The room was compact but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is right next to tons of shops, eateries and a mall with a movie theater so plenty of options around. Also, it was only a ten minute cab ride to our ship, which was perfect.

Location is excellent

Cleaning staff were substandard. They tried to talk me out of service two days in a row. The complimentary cocktail tasted worse than medicine. The hotel was busy beyond their capacity.

There was a good choice of hot and cold dishes for breakfast and a good choice of milk alternative. The coffee was very good. I loved the location, within walking distance from the railway station and near the cruise ports. The beds were very comfortable. The towels were soft and fluffy. I would stay here again.

I did not like the fact that the surfaces where the coffee and tea facilities were and by the bed were not cleaned after the first night when I spilt a little milk on the surface but apart from that the room and bathroom was very clean. I wiped it with a tissue but I should have been cleaned properly.

Another solid stay at Moxy Southampton. I’ve stayed in several Moxy hotels over the years and they always seem to get the basics right. Comfortable rooms, decent atmosphere, good staff and none of the soulless feel you get with some chain hotels. Nothing flashy, just a reliable and enjoyable stay exactly as expected. Will definitely return.
