Ramkota Hotel

The beds where hard as a rock and the room had ants under the sink and the carpet was a little dirty the cleaning staff needs to do a better job clean up.

We received a remodeled room, which was very nice and clean. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Best Beds Ever!! They were so comfortable; I slept like a baby!! The room was very clean, and the staff was super friendly!! I Highly enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay again!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Pierre.

Staff was great - restaurant was really good, had walleye fish and chips, really good. This is a hotel/motel, they are redoing it, but it's still a dressed up motel. Had a room on the inside that had a useless sliding glass door into a meeting room where there was a very loud meeting going on the whole first day when I really needed a nap. There aren't a lot of choices in Pierre so...

We had a horrible first night the beds were broken and the mattress was sunk in, there was mold above the window and holes in the headboard. They did move us to a better room the next day. No compensation for our problems at all. Will not stay here again.

Stayed at the Ramkota on January 10 and 11. As noted in several other recent reviews, the hotel (including our room) is undergoing renovation. The keys never worked (at least three were made and all failed--despite the lock being reprogrammed). We had to be let into our room by the front desk staff each time we returned to the hotel. That involved traipsing through the halls and past the pool and then waiting in the queue at the desk. Another downside was our beds remaining unmade after the first night. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was above par. That brings the rating up to a 3. Once the renovations / updates are complete, it will be a better experience. Paying full price for a room with a hallway undergoing renovation (drywall dust, boxes, etc.) and no maid service was a bit much, especially with the issue with the non-functioning keys. Not a total deal-breaker for future visits, but something for us to think about when making reservations prior to our next visit to Pierre.

Hotel was in the process of remodeling - this was not shared with us when we checked in. The room we were in was still in the remodeling process. Check in was perfunctory; not welcoming.

They are renovating but I didn’t mind. New rooms are great!
