Americas Best Value Inn Iola

Love staying at this hotel. We always stay here when we visit the area, which is about 5 times a year.

The only difficulty I experienced was getting my wheelchair into the Lobby Entrance. I had to get out of the wheelchair so it could be lifted up to clear the door frame. The Motel Staff was helpful in this, but a sloped entrance would be much easier for Handicapped persons, especially elders who have difficulty getting into and out of a wheelchair. Overall, although there were no maps of the city or area available, it is a clean, pleasant atmosphere.

This location was good for the price. Nice place to stay overnight while driving through.

We did not stay at the motel the night of the reservation. I checked in and was given keys to a room, the room smelled so terrible that we couldn’t even walk in. We were completely disappointed the pics weren’t even close to what this motel really looks like. Of course, we couldn’t get a refund from the motel because we booked the room from a third party, hotels.com. We went 20 minutes down the road and paid $135 for an extremely nice room at the holiday inn express in Chanute.

Almost no food is available near(within walking distance) the hotel. The on premise restaurant is permanently closed & the local cafe closes at 1PM. The continental breakfast also left a lot to be desired but was about what might be expected with the room rate. The exterior appearance of the hotel is not maintained very well. This was a business trip for me but my wife was with me which made the lack of nearby food more an issue since she had no transportation while I was working.

The hotel is older but in pretty good condition and clean. The pool was a nice surprise - better than expected. Location is great - close to good restaurants (especially Dudley's BBQ), bowling, and Walmart. Also not far from downtown Iola.

Room did not smell clean. Towels were yellow and dingy,breakfast was usual free breakfast so it was satisfactory,

This motel is terrible. I stayed at it several times over the years when it was a Best Western and always had a good experience. The new owners are the worst! I checked in and asked if I could see the room before I paid. The owner said "Yes but you won't be able to cancel your reservation anyway."

The room was good. It was clean, beds were clean, bathroom was clean, air was cold, enough room for what we needed. Didn't have any neighbors to bother us, the front desk was polite at check in. Beds were too hard for my liking but the kids seemed to sleep ok on them. The breakfast was non-existent. There were a few tiny muffins, packets of instant oatmeal, and juice machine. Still went out to get breakfast.

For the price, this is a good hotel. They have made improvements to the room, brightened them up a bit, and they were clean....that’s what matters! I stayed in the back row of rooms and can remember in years past how they seemed dark and depressing..The bathroom was small, however the bed was comfortable and clean. I would certainly stay here again (rather than the Super 8). A clean room at a friendly price.
