Royal Kahana Maui by OUTRIGGER

The location was great. The view from our room was wonderful and the roo allies a bit outdated was still very comfortable

The bathroom was very small, the water not hot,, .

Never was told no maid service and you have to wash your own towels never been in 49 yrs of travel had to wash my own towels and sweep my floors

First room ( 502 ) had carpet and smelled like mold, mildew and moth balls ! Moved us to a room due to having an allergic reaction ( still not feeling well days later ) that didn’t have carpet. AC didn’t work well in either unit. hubby complained multiple times and they acted like he didn’t know how to work the thermostat which wasn’t the case at all. We finally got fed up and decided to move to another hotel which felt like a total waste of money but wasn’t worth staying there. Also, the reception area with the glass walls is very uninviting and felt like a cashier cage.

Location

Already stated . There is no formal or casual dining room that overlooks the property , like the 4 resorts to the left do. No power from 5 pm to us checking out at 10 am They offered no coffee no flashlights or lanterns for our rooms. No electricity. Soon checking out no comp nights, charging station for our phones Nothing offered. They should have back up like Safeway grocery store 10 minutes away was fully operating. Their excuse they were afraid of fires, so bullshit The room was 400 with 200 in taxes, for 600 per night for a basic room should have comped us a night or a cup of . We asked twice to repair our refrigerator , they did not respond

The A/C was broken and they tried to fix it with fans but it was like living in a wind tunnel. lol. The resort transferred us to another sister property right on the beach and a major coastal trail. It was a fantastic time and we really appreciate the staff for providing us a stunning upgrade. They tool cate of the situation
