Capitol Reef Resort

Loved the private bathrooms for the Conestoga wagons. Even though they are outside the wagons, they are great, comfortable, and not far away!

The view was very good. The bathroom facilities were good for essentially a glamping experience. It was close enough to most of the trails in Capitol Reef.

The room wasn't very clean. We did walk into our Wagon to find a wasp buzzing around very angrily (understand that can happen but a check before we got there would've been nice). There was also some dirty used tissues on the side of the bunk beds - makes me question the cleanliness of the remainder of the wagon. The WiFi was non existent - I have young kids and one of them has to follow a certain routine and with such spotty WiFi that was very hard (again i get you're not going for WiFi when going to a place like this but the perceived strong WiFi connection was a deciding factor for me choosing this accommodation) - I'd rather it stated that the WiFi is very weak. Would not go back again and wouldnt recommend it to families.

I loved the views right outside my window and porch, the location, the cleanliness, the staff's attention to detail. We stayed in one of the cottages. Our spacious porch had comfortable deck furniture, including a full-size table, and the views were unbeatable. Even though it was a holiday weekend it did not feel crowded. It is very close to the National Park. The full-sized fridge & freezer were very helpful for keeping our breakfast, lunch (we made sandwiches each day to take into the park), and dinner for one night. And the ice dispenser ensured we had cold water to take into the park each day. We ate out 2 of the 3 nights and the other night I set up my crock pot, just standing it on the stove. It worked out like a dream. We loved that the cottage had two queen beds plus a sofa bed for my oldest son! All five of us slept comfortably. The climate control was amazing. We were there a mild weekend, with chilly weather in the mornings and late evenings and warm weather during the day. We like to have a pretty neutral (not cold) temperature and it was easy to adjust it just to our wants. I brought my tortilla blanket, since I sleep cooler than my husband, and each night when I came home it was spread out neatly on the bed. They did the same thing with my kids' special blankets and stuffed animals. (Hey, even some older kids love traveling with their special softies from their childhoods!) Each room had its own sliding glass door and screen with a drape, plus there were lots of windows and the front door. The blow dryer, towels, and all those little details were awesome. We loved the big hot tub by the pool.

This is definitely a cozy cottage. The room with the attached half bathroom was quite cramped. The only space to put my suitcase (not a giant one, but not a carry-on either) where I could easily get in and out of it in that room was semi-blocking the door and pathway to my side of the bed and bathroom. The other bedroom and full bathroom were quite nice. The kitchen was cramped when we had the sofa bed pulled out, but we only needed it at night. The kitchen table was small and so was the counter space, but I had room to make sandwiches and prepare food. Plus we had the big table outside. The doors were sliding doors with locks that were a little hard to use, and I felt like I couldn't open and close the doors quietly when I was ready to be up and about but everyone else was sleeping. The upper windows throughout the cottage didn't have shades and faced the rising sun. I actually preferred this because I wanted to wake up naturally and see the beautiful sky as I awoke. My husband would have preferred shades, but just used a sleep mask instead. We watched a movie in the main room one night. The sofa only comfortably held 3-4 of us. We brought in one of the Adirondack chairs from the porch for that. A little more sitting room for movie night would have been nice.

Nice and clean room with the Mountain View’s and TP and wagon around. Enjoyed walking around. Didn’t try the food as it was busy on the weekend.

Restaurant too busy. The room is a bit expensive.

Very nice double queen room.

Parking was a bit far from my room.
