Waterford Lodge Hotel

The location

The room was clean, but smelt and felt damp. The fan in the bathroom was a loud as a jet engine.

Size of room was huge

Breakfast was excellent Location was good

the old worldly charm, the location, the staff and the other guest, overall it was a nice experience

the building is a old coaching inn and has a lot of half hidden and unexpected steps. My wife took a bad fall after missing one of the steps

Nothing at all the stink of foist, mold and damp starts from the top of the stairs at the beginning of the corridor.

Absolute dump the corridor smells like a derelict building and as you continue down to the dungeon room we had the smell gets worse and gets no better once entering the room. There is mold and damp all over the wall the smell is revolting. We asked at reception about this to which we were told it had only just been done out and no one complains about the smell including someone who had just had the room for a week they must have been renting to lord voldemort because must have had no nose. I’m asthmatic and my partner has an autoimmune disease so this stay has made us unwell to say the least. Do not stay at this hotel no matter what comments they make or lies they concoct to make it seem bareable the price is low but it’s cheaper to buy a tent and it would smell better. Booking.com aren’t much better useless when I rang them from the room and useless afterwards for a 65 dump room they gave £8.63 back wow thanks for the memories and chest infections and only allowed to put 4 photos on this review shame as I have multiple ones of this hovel but they will b going to trading standards.

Basic rooms very thin pillows,trip hazards all through hallway

Good location, excellent food

The shower wasn’t very good/powerful and was cold when I checked in. I reported this to the staff who said that you needed to run the hot bath tap first. This could have been relayed on check in
