Beachfront Hotel

The nicest check-in staff ever! Hotel was so sweet that we immediately decided to stay an extra night! Lake view is spectacular!

It was very clean.. loved the view but don't go to see his sunset at least this time of year.. Outside Beach area could use some help as far as cleaner beach/sand area seaweed and grass in and amongst the sand.. Ambience/landscaping lighting at step's and retaining wall.. my room was directly as you walk in 314 handicap room beautiful room noise from the lobby bad news.. for the price of the rooms they could supply the wood for fire pits would be a plus.. overall in all lacking for the price without a discount..

The hotel was very clean. Well maintained the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We used the pool. The water was warm. There’s a hot tub. The private beachfront has tons of picnic tables, lawn chairs, grills and two fire pits. It’s really a relaxing and enjoyable environment.

Staff is amazing- top notch! The lake view room was so nice and we really enjoyed having the balcony. The convenience of the beach and pool/hot tub all in one spot was definitely something we enjoyed. The beach was so fun with a couple fire pits, a volleyball net, a swingset, dock, and nice beach chairs. Some things we found would be better- a little raking of the beach. There were snail shells everywhere and cut the kids feet and my husband’s. The lake is shallow really far out and so in order for us to swim we had to go out to the point where we were worried about boaters and jet skiers hitting us, so maybe some buoys out there to protect the swimmers. The pool was very clean and nice looking, the only issue was the Chlorine fumes that were pretty overwhelming and would make you cough and your eyes burn. I think it’s just a ventilation issue, so we would prop the doors open to air it out. The breakfast was nice, but maybe some eggs or something might be good to add so there are some not-so-sweet options. The other great thing about this breakfast area is that they would leave some of the muffins and yogurts to grab later in the day. These suggestions really are nitpicky and don’t take away from the comfort and joy of staying. We also met a lot of really nice families! Overall I would definitely stay again and look forward to it!

Me and my wife come up to Houghton Lake every year to spend our anniversary, this hotel is very clean but at the same time the water pressure is very weak, there is no hand soap at all, the towels are like sandpaper and the bed and pillows are super soft, no firmness for comfort at all, they could’ve least had a smart TV that you can use your apps from home like Amazon…Hulu, etc. The basic cable package has very little to watch. It was like going back to the antenna TV days with old shows…. overall, it was a place to stay and better than our last choice, also it is pet friendly, which becomes annoying

The staff were fantastic..to sit and sip coffee, which was always available, on the balcony and gaze on the lake was very relaxing . Was very nicely surprised to see a very nice ,so we thought, play area for kids, there were 2 extremely nice fire pits with adorondak chairs. 1 on the beach with 8-12chairs. It was very clean...NO BEDBUGS....we checked thouroly.we saw several families with small children who said they were very happy with price and area.

I chose it over others in the area for the beach. I was not disappointed. The weather was cold but my purpose was to study not to do a lot of outdoor activities. It was quiet and relaxed. I appreciated the staff also.

Location on the lake was wonderful. Wet clean and well maintained, staff was extremely friendly. We would stay here again.
