Best Western Mayport Inn and Suites

The breakfast attendant Rosa is the rudest human i have ever encountered. When we went down for breakfast,at 830am, there wasnt anything available,no food,no juice,no coffee and no syrup for waffles. I asked for syrup and told Rosa it was truly ridiculous that there were 6 other guests and no food on the breakfast. Rosa began speaking in Spanish and yelling at me,I told her i spoke Spanish and to stop cussing me out. Tosa was so out of control,the Front Desk Attendant kept apologizing profusely for Rosas actions. I want to be compensated for this OR is it Best Westerns policy to advertise free breakfast but not provide it

Every single person who works there that we encountered was simply amazing. Super friendly and answered our questions. Breakfast was good. Waffles, eggs, bagels, yogurt, coffee. Ice machine and vending all worked. The issue I had was with the outlets and the furniture. There were 6 outlets around the bedside area. Only 2 worked. There were 2 wall outlets that worked, so we had to buy the longer charging cords to use them. We also unplugged the hair dryer from the bathroom so we could use those outlets. Also, the night table drawer wouldn't stay closed. I have a small bruise on the side of my thigh from hitting it when I got up in the middle of the night.

I hate to write a bad review because the staff were so nice, but…here goes. The hotel seemed fine in the lobby and halls. But the minute I opened the door to our room, I was hit with an empowering smell of musty mildew. We were tired and stayed, hoping the AC unit would freshen things up. It didn’t. I woke up feeling clammy because the unit didn’t remove moisture…maybe because it was cold outside while the room was hot. The windows were sealed shut so I couldn’t get fresh air that way. The second night, the staff kindly moved us to a different room, but it was right next door to the first one, with the identical problem. I woke up with a headache. There are better hotels for the money. This one needs a lot of updating to make it worthwhile. At least, maybe don’t get a room on the first floor. We had our dog with us so maybe that’s why we were given less nice rooms?

The receptionist Thomas was outstanding in providing services and the other staff members did a good job also. I will recommend anyone to stay here.

Staff was very pleasant. Property was clean. It was under construction but well controlled.
