Residence Inn Visalia

It was fine. Room was clean and new, good bed, etc. Very few dining options near hotel. Area is very boring. But a good option for a quick stop in middle of a road trip.

Breakfast was excellent! Room was large and comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked, we just used the microwave but you could easily cook a four course meal in there.

Holiday weekend, so it was a little pricier than I’d have liked.

I checked into the hotel on May 28th, 2025 and as of current (June 16th, 2025) I am still here for work. I will be here until Mid to late July. I am also the highest rewards member status (Ambassador Elite) possible as I live out of hotels. Marriott Bonvoy has overall been about average honestly, but I am writing this review to specifically mention one issue I have had here at the Visalia location. If your cell phone provider is AT&T, you absolutely have to request a top floor room or you will not have the ability to send texts, make phone calls or connect to the internet. I thought there was a problem with my phone and one of the managers just happened to mention the issue offhand. I then moved all my belongings to a top floor room where the issue is now completely fixed on my phone. The WIFI is unbearably slow and i had to purchase an ethernet cable just to get normal speeds. When the internet inevitably shuts off randomly (twice now in 19 days) I have to reconnect using my hotspot on my personal phone. As I am doing as I right this review. This is especially frustrating as I had called in advance and specifically asked if the internet was decent enough and was reassured there was no issues. Since I work out of state, internet is vital to staying in touch with friends and family as well as managing my second online hobby/job. The staff here are very nice and always check in to make sure everything is going well. They greet me as I enter and leave the building and at the end of the day it is not their fault the internet in Visalia seems to struggle so much. I will have to be very direct next time I call a front desk asking whether the internet is good or not. Its a decent hotel if you don't have a heavy dependance on internet.
