"Initially Shocking But..."

4.0

Some European hotels can be a shocker if you are not prepared for steep stairs, no elevator, poor infrastructure and high prices. I was unprepared. After the initial apprehension, including a relic television that was impossible to watch, the stay turned out to be not too bad. I was on business and the location was perfect - walking distance form the facility - friendly staff, continental 'family type breakfast', coffee, tea available for the asking...it was not an unpleasant stay

"Ok for a stopover"

6.0

The rooms are tired, the windows have single pain glass so you can hear the drunks outside on a Saturday night, The breakfast was good and the welcome friendly and relatively cheap. OK for a stop-over but not for much longer

"Compact and Cozy"

8.0

Its a nice little hotel in the eastern side of Brussels. It takes around 20 minutes by Metro to reach the Grand Place. Everything are kept simple and nice with small design rooms. You will definitely enjoy your short stays in here.

"Solo Trip to Brussels"

4.0

It's a small hotel with very cute decor however, the bathroom smelled so bad I had to burn incense just to stay in the room. There was an old rusted out towel warmer in my shower that was quite gross. There was also a cube of a television that didn't work and just took up space so I think they are focusing on the wrong thing. The night guy was ridiculous when I wanted to go out for a night cap and asked me what time I would be back because he has to let you in or you are locked out. I said I would be gone for an hour and he said Okay but he would be sleeping. They really need a better system or a someone that works at night that's actually awake and not just sleeping on the couch in the lobby. Very unprofessional. Lastly I had to pay an extra 7 euros for a tax that suddenly appeared which was disappointing because for an additional 7 euros I could have gotten another hotel. Erica was the best thing about the entire stay. She was wonderfully charming and very helpful.

"Small hotel but great service"

8.0

The service was excellent and the location was perfect as I had business meetings in very close proximity. Access to the tube and bus was also very easy. There is no elevator in this 3 storey hotel so once you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor you are bound to get some daily exercise.

"Good value and friendly with some minor downsides."

8.0

Just an overnight stay in a hotel I had stayed in some year's. Only downsides were that there is no lift (elevator) to the rooms, so one has to climb steep stairs with luggage and that there is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, with most windows opening onto to busy streets. Otherwise it is good value and the staff are friendly and courteous.

"What a poor place to stay"

2.0

I chose the hotel as a convenient place to stay - but I should maybe stayed elsewhere. Arrival was fine and the young guy there was very pleasant. From there it was downhill: well up 3 flights of very narrow stairs actually (where the grey paint had been knocked into so badly it was like it had a disease or something) - to perhaps the smallest wee double room I have encountered. The carpet was filthy and it looked disgusting. Might sound daft but there was no bathroom floor mat - for after using the shower - as the floor wasnt clean. Other peoples hair came up the shower drain. Aargh. Breakfast - served for 12 people on 1 big central table: No warm food. Central revolving stand has jams/spreadables, but plenty of bread, pain au chocolate etc. But things were awkwardly set out - cereals on mantlepiece for example. Poor selection of breakfast items. Woman on duty had a compulsive disorder to adjust things to exact positions and when (as oinly eater) I moved the coffee jug to be near me she kept moving it away - to a distance where I had to keep getting it back - annoying. Asked on arrival for a taxi - 8.15 - on checking a reservation was made for 7.45 - so I asked for it to be changed to 8.15 - when one didnt arrive at that time, the woman said it had been booked for 8.45! Eventually one arrived at 8.30 - but the booking of it was annoying. I think the people working there would help you as much as they can though and I dont particularly have any issues with their helpfulness. Wifi was useless - kept dropping signal - I gave up eventually. There is wifi but its not effective. The hotel is very run down, needs a refresh and please get those carpets renewed and walls painted! Think about having a side table for breakfast items and then the large table just for eating at - in my opinion that would work better. It is no longer boutique or designer - its old, tatty, and poor value. Sorry but true.

"A nice area of the city, and a beautiful old building but the room was a little tired"

6.0

I booked the hotel as it was close to my family so ideal for a short weekend visit. The hotel is reasonably priced given that it is fairly close to the city centre (the Metro is just up the road and takes about 5 minutes to get to the central station). The hotel is a tall narrow building - beautiful and old with lots of character. The lady who greeted me was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. My room was on the third (top floor) so I had to carry my bags up three sets of narrow steps but it was not a problem for me as I was travelling light but may be an issue for others. The room itself was small but the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The décor itself is a little tired and the room faced the road so it was a little noisy at times. However overall the hotel was value for money and I would stay there again. Breakfast is a communal breakfast - one table - which is very sociable but may not suit everyone.

"Good bed, Room is only mediocre..."

6.0

I stayed here for 1 night, because it was one of the closest available hotel to where I needed to be the next morning. The room was ‘clean’ enough to stay for 1 night - but it was small, and the carpet could use a replacement with all it’s stains. They call it a modern/design hotel, which it’s not. Very old fashioned TV for example, see picture. There is no elevator, which is quite a drag having to carry 3 suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. Also, the WIFI is absolutely horrible - Wifi is one of my requirements. They advertise with Free wifi in the entire hotel This is absolutely not true, and the lady at the front desk couldn’t / didn't want to do anything about is. It didn’t work on 3 different devices, but apparently it was not their router that was having a problem.
