Cliff Hotel

As regular guests to The Cliff, the hotel is great for location, great friendly staff and very comfortable.

Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Private access to the beach superb. The balcony overlooking the sea to eat or drink on, is a huge added bonus.

The only thing that was slightly annoying was there was only one member of staff on to look after everything on bank holiday Monday! The poor woman was rushed off her feet and had to get the night porter to help serve. This meant you didn’t want to bother her with a few breakfast problems. She did her best though.

Location. Room was nice and clean.

Miserable staff. The bar staff especially. On arrival I rushed to the toilets in the reception area before checking in.....absolutely disgusting 🫣 the floor was wet and then my feet were soaked and it smelt funky and when I looked it was toilet waste allll over the floor. Yes there was poop. Went to reception and told the receptionist who said. It was tap water....no love theres definitely poop and the water is rising. Still telling me it was just water 🤦🏻‍♀️ I had to shower and wash my shoes as soon as I got into the room. Then at breakfast we saw staff priving toast was hot but touching it while handing it to the guest....even she was shocked 😲 This place used to be busy but for a bank holiday sunday it was dead so we went to a place near by to have drinks and food.

The staff were all excellent, cheerful, and always helpful.

Our mattress was soft and we've have suggested they look at it.

The breakfast was good but the service was slow. This is absolutely no reflection on the very lovely Maggie, who is amazing, but she needs help - she can't do it all on her own!

Handy for lovely walks along Gorleston promenade.

Location.

A couple of safety hazards to mention. The feet on the fan in my room had sharp edges that could potentially cut your toes. Fire escape signage was left on the floor rather than on a wall. The restaurant was severely understaffed as there was only one lady looking after all tables for the duration of the entire breakfast period. I repeat, only 1 lady serving, cleaning, taking orders...everything. 71 guests were expected for breakfast. The breakfast dynamic is confusing as your stay includes breakfast, but once you find a table you get a priced menu, which you're not charged for. Some things you can have as much as you want, others is only one portion. If you want coffee it's self service, if you want tee, they will serve you. The water in the taps runs extremely hot. There is no cold water option, just hot or extremely hot.

Enourmous breakfast, very good quality.
