Villas Fa-Sol

The property, buildings, and view look amazing, but when you look closer there are many issues. The breakfast was delicious.

This was the final stay after a month of enjoying Mexico. We wanted the end to be classy and memorable. We trusted the reviews, but they didn't align with our experience. This place is run down and not well managed. Check-in was unnecessarily long. A What's App contact was provided for support, but they never responded to messages. Our room was not cleaned well. On arrival, we had a dirty coffee carafe, and ants and black hairs were on the floor. We had to ask for running water and internet to be turned on in the room. On two occasions our water was completely shut off with no warning and seemingly no issue, but we had to leave the room to request this be turned on at 630 am. The safe was not functional - broken door. The light bulb on the bedside table blew and sparked when turned on. The towels were full of fluff. It was everywhere! The hot tub on the balcony was not functional and had construction debris in it. The room has some sketchy stairs to a lofted area - unique, but not really functional or safe.

Villas Fasol provided us an incredible two days. We were super impressed by the hospitality, the service, the views, and the overall hotel. The room and our balcony were so much more beautiful than I expected, the pictures of this place really do not do it justice. I really did not want to say goodbye to this place! It reminded me of Santorini! The sunsets on the little private beach are perfect. Shoutout to Tony who did an amazing job working with my fiance to plan a surprise proposal for me! We are 100% coming back someday. As for the area, we had a car so it was easy to get around. Restaurants are about a 8-12 minute drive.

The location was great. Easy access to a private beach.

Rooms were dirty, hotel manager did not care about customer service or ensuring we got the room we paid for. We were charged for a large villa room and were put in a smaller, junior suite. Pool had not been cleaned in some time.

We came to Villas Fasol because the hotel we stayed in the days before could not offer us a room to extend our stay, so we decided to change and found this jewel. The hotel is very nice with a wonderful garden and access to two small beaches. Please note the swimming at these beaches is not possible! During our stay we had the smaller beach directly by the hotel just for us. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks, the views and the tranquility were what we were looking for. The hotel offers only breakfast but we were offered that they could help us with ordering food from a restaurant of our choice and we could eat at the hotel. We rather went to La Cruzecita for dinner (Taxi costs 80-100 Pesos). Toni as the manager and all his staff were fantastic. We felt more like at home than in a hotel. If we have the chance to visit Huatulco again we would definitely return.

We ended up in a corner room with spectacular views. As we were traveling during the off season, we felt like we were the only guests on property at times. Gloria, the manager, was amazing. She helped us with all our requests.

No food options other than breakfast. Have to choose breakfast option wisely, you will be charged for seconds. Private beach is not great for novice swimmer (could be the season).

Me and my husband planned on staying here until we had such a terrible experience the first day first night. First the AC in the room did not reach the restroom therefore the restroom was extremely hot. Second the bed was extremely hard, maybe not a deal breaker for some but it’s was almost like laying on the floor. Third when we planned on going to sleep after ignoring and trying to just make the best out of all the issues, the head board of the bed was covered in ants which to our surprise we moved the bed and underneath was full of ants as well. Not to mention in order to contact the staff we had to text the girl on WhatsApp which was extremely inconvenient since she was already home which we did not know and we didn’t wanna inconvenience someone while they are at home. Another thing the place had a really dirty pool which in the pictures looked better than in person. They also advertised for a private beach experience but when we arrive we were told that we couldn’t swim since the beach was very rocky and waves were strong, which one fine but that was one of the reasons we stayed there since we wanted that experience. Overall it was very uncomfortable and inconvenient and me and my husband had to contact Expedia so get moved the first day we arrived because the experience was already so bad and dull.

The room was different from the room that we booked, and also smells very bad, we complaint and they told us that they only have that one. We asked if they have another one and they told us that they have a different one, but with view to the garden. The one that we booked have ocean view supposedly, but to be honest the view wasn’t good. The manager tried to apologize and sent someone to give a fresh smell to the room, but they just make the smell worst. We didn’t stay there, we have to cancel the booking. If you’re planning to stay there, there are better options in that area. We were glad that we found a very nice place 2 blocks away from this one.
