Royale Beach and Tennis Club

My reservation @ another place was cancelled late the night before by the owner due to damage so this was an any port in the storm reservation. Like nearly every place on SPI it is a little run down & could use updates, but it worked. You have to ignore the broken tiles, chipped paint, door lock readers that don't always work, elevator buttons that don't light up, tables that rock when you set things on them, etc. all minor issues that didn't majorly effect my trip but easily enough fixed if the owners cared to do so. The biggest problem being that the parking is HORRIBLE, way too small for my truck and they only allow 1 vehicle, my business companion is 80 yrs old so she got the parking at the location, I had to park my truck with inventory in it several blocks away in public parking and pray it didn't get broken into. The best part is it does have a great view of the beach, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was fairly well supplied with the appropriate things to be able to make meals. Not my first choice of a place to stay but certainly not my last, it worked and the price was acceptable. The potential for this place to be really nice is there they just need to work on some improvements and updates.

It is an excellent location, the staff very friendly, it’s nice and clean, and the kitchenette was well-equipped. The condo is very dated.

Everyone was helpful and polite. Nice place. Would stay again.

The staff was very courteous. It was a little challenging finding the hotel since no visible sign was present and it was within a gated area. The building and amenities were a little old and wear and tear evident. The room had a strong perfume smell to it and the bed did creak. It seemed clean. I’m 6’ tall and thin but nevertheless the shower was small. It contained a small kitchenette that was well-equipped. Overall I rated it a 3 out of 5 stars. Appropriate for the $63 per night fee in my opinion.

This is my second time staying there and really enjoyed it. Staff are very helpful and understanding. Resort is nice and clean.

Checked into room 55 on Friday around 5 pm noticed that we had no hot water , I spoke to front desk told them of the situation , they said they’d have someone to look at it , Saturday spoke them twice they assured me this would be fixed yet still nothing was done . Very disappointed and would not recommend unless you like subzero showers .

We had a very bad experience with this hotel. I do not recommend booking here. We got a call from the hotel at 7PM the day we were supposed to begin our stay, while we were on our way to South Padre Island, and we were announced that the hotel is overbooked and we do not have a room. No explanation, alternative, compensation or apologies. Trying to find another booking that late in the day was a nightmare. Hotel.com found another room for us after 2 hours on the phone with them but the accommodations were not even close to what we originally booked. We ended up losing money and time. Very disappointing!
