Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club

My villa room faced the lake and had an attached screened porch so I could sleep with fresh air and hear the many birds. My room was very spacious, with a desk, wing chair with ottoman, refrigerator and coffee maker, and bathroom with 2 sinks. My bed was comfortable and there was a choice of 4 different pillows, for filling and firmness preference. I enjoyed the peace and tranquility of my villa room with docks, dining, and activities reached by walkng paths. The cons for me was every morning being woken by gas powered string trimmers, loud talking echoing in the common vestibule, and the awful habit of staff and guests allowing the self-closing doors to slam, particularly against the safety bar to keep doors unlocked as cleaning staff went in and out of adjoining bedrooms. Otherwise I very much enjoyed my stay and the front desk staff were exceptionally kind, helpful and pleasant.

It was a well kept and clean property and I would be pleased to return. However the fishing was awful. They were not biting. Everyone I spoke to about the lake said the same.

Beautiful property

It’s a beautiful place. Two restaurants on site. Service at either one is lacking. Their pool doesn’t open until May and they don’t communicate requests to or from 3rd party booking sites. It’s was clean and the grounds are well maintained.

I found a piece of hair in the tub. The tub could use a new plug to stop water and a new shower head. Water had no real water force Lighting was poor in the bedroom and also there was no light bulb in one of the lamps. Light fixture was missing in the bathroom. Pollen was all over the balcony area asked to have it cleaned up, never done. Did not give face towels as requested. The cleaner did not make up the room properly.

Beautiful first rate resort. Clean top quality room with screened balcony looking at green lawns and lovely lakefront. But a lousy restaurant. Just a glorified snack bar, insufficient for such a property, and no place for a decent dinner. Miles away from any other chance at a dinner.

We stayed in the Villas and they were very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. Food at the Cypress Grill was outstanding.

2nd time here. Lodge room this visit. Clean, comfortable bed, and great view as always. My only complaint is how dark it is at night driving in. I can't see anything.

Awesome place and a great find.... Lots to do for the whole family

A/C not working properly after approximately an 1/2 hr power outage . Maintenance supposedly fixed, but room was a steady 74 degrees, even on warmest days. Too warm to sleep.
