Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club

A/C not working properly after approximately an 1/2 hr power outage . Maintenance supposedly fixed, but room was a stwady 74 degrees, even on warmest dsys. Too warm to sleep.

Cleanliness was excellent. THE RESTAURANT WAS pleasant and the food was very good.

Bottles & cans Thrown every where Around docks . Looked like a party exploded. Staff was rude . We had children and they treated us like this was an adult only resort The room was not as clean as expected My Husband stay a few months back & truly enjoyed. We probably won’t be back

This place is a great little getaway for a family. The golf course is decent given it’s a public course. The campground area for the RV’s and camping is very nice. Great spot for camping on the lake. The marina is a very nice setup with a great restaurant and bar (under normal non covid circumstances). I stayed at the Villas and they could use a little updating. The beds weren’t the most comfortable and the tv’s were subpar. The bathroom/shower area had a sour type smell to them. Keep in mind the villas are setup as a fourplex. It can be very loud if the other units are occupied. The check in was very easy and the counter lady was very nice.

The hotel is way out in the middle of nowhere. The one restaurant we ate at wasn't anything spectacular. There was some issue with one of our credit cards being charged twice. Still waiting to see if that gets resolved.

The place is beautiful on the outside. I was puzzled about the styrofoam cups we were served our beverages in the two different eateries. The first place was the outdoor grill. Everyone else was drinking out of glasses. The second place we were served our coffee in the same type of cup, everyone else had a regular coffee cup. I addressed the waiter about it. She stumbled her words to tell me there were no more clean cups. She apologized and told us it was nothing personal against us. She walked away to charge my card then came back and told us the coffee was on her. Needless to say my husband is black and I of latino and black race. We left and plan to never return. The whole feel of the place seems to feel like we were not wanted.

Beautiful setting and very nice management. It was fun to see the old aircraft and tanks with deer roaming about. Dinner at Daphne Lodge just outside of the State Park was outstanding. We plan additional trips to this gem in South Georgia

Beautiful surroundings! So peaceful. Unfortunately had severe thunderstorms so use of facilities limited. We definitely want to come back! Need to see more and explore.
