Palms at Wailea Maui

Location was great. Very close to Wailea beach, Shops at Wailea, Kihei businesses. Unit was very roomy and had most things we needed. Had air conditioning as well.

We were checking in after hours and didn't get a response to how we would get into unit until day before arrival. Some confusion as to which unit we were to check into. All got resolved but I would have preferred knowing in advance rather than last minute. Our unit was next to the pool - great if you want easy access but a bit noisy at times and everyone walked past your lanai.

Never updated condo from the 70s. Dirty fan blades and doors, broken glass covered with packing tape, patio screen off its tracks, loose screw on another patio door track making operation difficult to name a few things. Pictures do not match the individual condo rented. The outdoor grounds and pool, however, were very nice.

No central air so the house can get hot during the day Need new set of knives as they are very dull. We used to cut papayas and hard to peel the skins Not enough kitchen ware and lack of basic cooking ingredients like salt, sugar, oil There is not enough dish washer detergent for daily wash Not enough beach chairs and toys. We don’t have small kids so we did not need the toys but other places we stayed at have toys and lots of beach equipment

Be aware that this booking is for a condo with rental managed by the seller here (Outrigger). The photos provided absolutely do not reflect the condition of the unit we were assigned. Our unit had dirty carpeting that I’d guess is 15 years old. Appliances have been recently replaced but all fixtures and features - electrical and plumbing - are on the downhill side of acceptable. Our unit was second floor with a narrow stairwell to bring things up. The main bathroom was about as clean as an average YMCA locker room. We were very disappointed and cannot recommend this property. Other units might be just fine but it’s a roll of the dice we lost.

No detail was to small, everything needed was there. First time ever we didn’t have to buy tp, paper towels, dish soap, detergent etc., it was truly as advertised. Hanging out for breakfast on the lanai was a real pleasure. We have stayed at other units at this facility and they don’t come near the quality and comfort of this unit.for. Everything worked as it should, TVs were newer and very nice. We will try to get this unit in the future.
