Best Western Williamsburg Historic District

Decent location to the nearby Colonial Williamsburg; bathroom was very small...vent was dusty...shower head not working...carpet looked old...bed mattress too soft and had no cover...pillows were awful...TV not always working. Location of hotel near a train line and it was extremely noise during the night (we counted at least 5-7 freight trains during the night). Breakfast was included in room rate, but we did not eat since scrambled eggs looked artificial and pancakes were dry.

Room had thick layer of dust over much of the room furniture. There was also strong chemical odor on ground near the elevator. Elevator was old and clunky, sometimes didn't ever arrive. Friendly staff, but seemed to be understaffed, which I understand is a major issue for lots of hotels, but this one needs more cleaning.

Dated but well kept and clean

It allowed pets which was a benefit for us. The room was big enough for us with our dog. It was affordable. It was convenient, just a short walk to historic Williamsburg and a short drive to the water park.

The breakfast was OK. Cereals, bagels pastries were good, but sausages not so tasty. The hotel has a lot of potential, and it was going through some upgrades.

Ample parking.

While waiting to check in, was privy to a phone call from a guest reporting an alleged theft from her room the previous evening Alarmingly, the door next to ours had earlier been forced open and its timbers splintered. Something bad had happened there, but there seemed no urgency to clean up or mitigate the events. We pushed open the shattered door and saw very disturbing detritus of an emergency.

Beautiful area. Loved being across from a pasture w/horses and sheep and nice walking trail. Close to downtown Williamsburg but not in congested area. Full cooked breakfast included. Will come back!
