Hotel Illa D'Or

Another lovely holiday at our favourite hotel. Staff and service exceptional. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Majorca.

One week in a sea view corner room. Rooms must vary in size as ours was quite spacious. The hotel does have a really nice style - a blend of historic and contemporary. Clean throughout. Breakfast very good, evening food (a la carte) a bit mixed. Location is absolutely perfect - close enough to town (nice stroll along the front), far enough to be peaceful in the evenings. Staff generally very helpful but the set up for both breakfast and the evening, as well as at the bar, means you don’t have a dedicated server which may explain the problems we had toward the end. This started with our penultimate night where a drink in the restaurant didn’t show up at our table. We asked a second time and again it didn’t show, so we gave up. Rather frustrating to then see this drink twice on the bill but, to be fair, they amended it immediately. The next morning when reviewing the hotel bill, these phantom drinks were added back. In addition there were two further sets of drinks charged to our room that weren’t ours. Of course, this happens in other hotels but the frustration came in trying to get them removed. Where in other hotels they fix the error there and then, it felt like we were being treated suspiciously at first, before the reception staff agreed to ‘review with management’. Four times we went through this on the last day, having to explain, getting agreement that they’d be adjusted, then no action. The constant passing of orders in the food and drink places seems to cause the problem, the constant passing of any invoice query means it doesn’t get solved. Only by making it clear how unhappy I was at 23:00 on the final attempt did they finally sort it. Not a great way to finish the holiday.

Nice hotel. The breakfast on the terrace was lovely. We highly recommend the boat charter which was well worth the effort. Our room (sea view with balcony) was ridiculously small. Would agree that there are insufficient sun-loungers. Not sure what the “Benidorm “ lot were? Most guests were respectful and polite. Maybe that guest should try the nearby Four Seasons!

Beautiful hotel grounds, however poor food at the pool bar. Sunbeds are a bit of a nightmare but what’s worse than the “Benidorm lot” are the Home Counties family that didn’t come up for air for an entire week around the beach area, had far too much to say and said it far too loudly. Staff were lovely.

Unfortunately, this hotel is not as it was the last few years. Our 3rd year at this beautiful hotel. Lovely staff and a gorgeous setting. But package tours have invaded this once calm and peaceful place and Benidorm Sunbed warriors are in full force. We have witnessed stand up arguments and the management’s only idea was to put a rope up until 9am 🤯 Of course, all that does is make it worse!!! With no staff to monitor it after this time people are sprinting to claim as many beds as possible ( also, not monitored and 2 small kids do not need their own loungers!) . It was ten times worse at the beach but the family pool wasn’t much better and was monitored even less. Day 1, there wasn’t a single bed for us anywhere and the receptionist told me ‘ oh well, yes you need to get up earlier to get the beds also’. The clientele this year was very different and unfortunately it’s just ruined it for many loyal families we know that have been coming for years. It’s such a shame but ‘Benidorm’ has taken over.

Enjoyed a beautiful meal this evening in La Terrassa , Illa D’or. Special mention and thanks to Poli who helped make it so special.

Lovely hotel in fantastic location near the end of the pine walk, next to the sea and 10 minutes flat walk along the pine walk to the town. Really helpful staff, absolutely no complaints in fact we booked to go back next year before we left. Worth booking a sea view room.

This Hotel provided a wonderful and serene retreat, perfectly positioned at the end of the Pine Walk🌳🌴🌲Our room was excellent, with very comfortable beds and a good sized balcony with lovely views of the sea. The restaurant team offered exceptional and friendly service, making us feel welcome. There is two pools, one over looking the sea and Pine Walk and sun beds overlooking by the sea, perfect!! We will certainly be planning a return visit!🌊🐠🐡🌲🌳🌴🍸🍹

We have stayed at the Illa D’ Or many times. It’s a beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The quality of service is excellent. We have already booked for 2026.

We were so impressed with everything about this hotel, the food and the staff who were all amazing especially Monica. Thank you everyone for making it so special
