Fireside Lodge

The location was great as far as close to The Village and the lake. The room we stayed in was very cute and had potential for being very cozy and comforting for a weekend stay. We did think it could definitely use some updating and paying attention to details as far as maintenance and cleaning. Had an odor of old and musky. We did see some areas that could have possibly been previous water damage and incomplete repair work, such as covering around pipe fixtures on the walls in the restroom. What appeared to have been a moldy, could have been stained wood, old medicine cabinet in the restroom that didn’t close all of the way. Unmopped floors in the kitchen area. I will say there wasn’t anything that was absolutely disgusting, just saw the aging and use over the years that by investing some time in would make it absolutely adorable and comfortable. The walls in the bedroom are very thin and could easily hear everything happening in the room nextdoor. Sounded like they were rearranging the entire room several times and burning their food up until about 1 in the morning. I think I would come back if the place was revamped with new carpet and the maintenance details were addressed.

Very cozy and great place to stay

They could’ve done a better job dusting and sweeping. The pool was very nice. The amenities were very nice. Really great view from the balcony. Really close proximity to shops and downtown.

The facility has the honestly earned character of a motel built before 1950. Our room had a gas fireplace that worked after the Manager came to our room to relight the pilot light. The motel is in need better maintenance or restoration, but is livable as it is. The location is excellent, close to the lake and to downtown shops and very good restaurants. We chose the place because it was interesting, conveniently located, and inexpensive rather than shiny and new, so we were happy with our stay.

The smoke detector was broken, and the towels were very old. I think the owner could do more to improve the cleanliness.

we had to leave early because we didn't want to get stuck in the snow that was coming. we enjoyed using the tv. lots of stations. great wifi!

there was no place to set your luggage down except the floor. the room was too small for two double beds. maybe a queen bed and then a dresser?

Ok place. They refused my credit card b/c the expiration date was 2030. Very basic accommodations. But okay for the price.
