Hotel Canton

Hotel canton is in a great location walking distance to metro and right near great shopping restaurants and the Beijing road cultural district. Choice of Asian or western style breakfast or both is great value, outside pool too cold for us and have to wear swimming hats ( they provide)which seems to be a Chinese standard. Has a well equipped gym too Reception staff have very little English so checking in and out can be a challenge. The bar area is expensive so buy drinks from the confidence store next door or at restaurants very few bars and hard to find in Guangzhou Views from room was not great but overall I would stay here again.

My parents are currently staying in the hotel...the room is great and good location for their needs...very convenient for shops and restaurants nearby. Service from a woman at the breakfast front desk was dreadful - giving my mother the wrong information twice and then insulting her by insinuating that she couldn't afford the breakfast and to try somewhere cheaper instead! Very bad service... However, there is a Phoenix Liu who is absolutely lovely. The hotel management really need to recognise this employee who has gone out of her way to make sure that my parents' stay is comfortable and helping them when their bank card got swallowed up by the ATM. Employee more Phoneix Lius please!

The property is located very close to Beijing Road and that's the only good thing I can say about it. Was there for three nights , the rooms are old and in need of serious updation , the Gym is useless and there is no room service after 9. Was there during the typhoon which came recently and there was absolutely no support from the staff regarding anything. All in all I will not recommend it to anyone

The location of this hotel is 1st class. right at the entrance to beijing lu. Very easy access to walk to the market which is open till 11 pm. on bus and taxi route as well. Staff need to learn better english though

The rooms in this hotel are a bit dated but clean. Housekeeping comes every day to change your sheets and towels. Staff speaks (basic) English and were really helpful when our luggage got lost on the flight. The pool is a nice asset, but your hair MUST BE covered when you go in, so buying a cap was mandatory. There are 3 restaurants: 1 with western style food, 1 with asian food (looked quite posh) and 1 in the basement with regular Chinese food. Only tried the latter one, food was good. All in all good value for money.

Hotel charged very expensive room rate with minimum services provided. The room is a bit outdated and need refreshing. The breakfast rate is very expensive. Front desk staffs are very polite and cooperative. The hotel has two exit one on the 2nd floor and another G floor. There is a good massage shop opposite the hotel (very small) which is place next to a florist. The nearest train station need approx 20mins walk. There are plenty of food stalls if you like just across the hotel is you get out from 2nd floor exitng Beijing Road.

Close To A Lot Of Business But Not Many Western restaurants Except Mcdonald & KFC. Wifi Not Good. There Was No Coffee In The Except Some Chinese Leaf Tea

The hotel is very close to a lot of shopping and good food, and the lobby is nice, but not consistent with the room which had a residual smoke smell despite being a non-smoking room and overall was not very clean apparently due to cigarettes (housekeeping was good)

Beginning from check-in, the process was very slow. Hotel is old, carpet stained all over. Breakfast area often overcrowded. If you're alone, you stand to lose your seat as soon as you go away to grab more food or drinks. Looks like grossly under capacity and under staffed.
