The biggest problem with the hotel? The staff try to scam you. When I arrived, a staffer by the name of Rodney checked me in. I inquired about transport to sites such as Celestune, Kabah and other archeological sites. He said he would have to call a taxi. The price for the taxi was overly inflated. For example, Kabah is 20km down the road, and the taxi that he volunteered to call for me (it seemed more that he was calling a friend who had a car)would cost the equivalent of $55. He told me an equally ridiculous price for a car to Celestun. I don't understand how a resort can claim to cater to tourists and not have any connections whatsoever to legitimate tour operators--or even recommendations for how to contact a tour company. Like, seriously, am I the only person who has ever stayed at this hotel who wanted to do more than sit at the hotel? I was baffled I told Rodney, the hotel staffer, I would consider the prices. He then walked me to my room and told me, "You know, I have a car. I have a family, and I need the money. I could do the tour for you tomorrow when I get off work." I am sympathetic to someone needing money, but this all seemed like a scam to me. He also offered to transport me to the airport on my day of checkout for an overly inflat
It's a good choice if you want to make Uxmal a special visit. BUT we felt because we are young (30 years old) we were treated differently. We ate at the restaurant for many meals and enjoy the little extra traditional must try food ( what ever you order they give you a little free appetizers very traditional... Not seen any where else). We love to travel mid range usually but in special location we love to take top end.
I’d have to say it was by far the best Hotel I’d stayed in. The service is more than excellent.
This is a great hotel with excellent service. The best feature is the proximity to the archeological site, and cooling off in the pool after visiting.

If I could have given them a "6" on location I would have. It is literally right across the street from the Uxmal ruins and you can see the top of the Temple of the Magician from their restaurant.
Warm staff, lovely setting, very peaceful. The pool area could have used more TLC as several chairs had bird droppings on them and the pool had debris in it. Food was good in the restaurant but could have been warmer. The resort and restaurant were not very busy quite when we were there. Service was outstanding. Professional and friendly. Can’t beat the location which is adjacent to the ruins at Uxmal. You can see the temple top from the restaurant. This is a historic property which is impressive in its own right. Great rocking chairs on the porch from which to watch the birds and to relax. Poor wifi
