"Retro hotel in a retro city 2"

Beautiful period hotel which is what I always hope to find on my travels. The hotel was one of the cleanest I've ever seen and really loved the period staircase. I imagine there's several rooms not yet modified to modern looks. I'd be happy with one of the old style rooms if still available

The bar was closed on the night I stayed. No complaints otherwise

"It was value for money. comfortable for the one night stay."

The receptionist was very polite and welcoming. The room was comfortable.

The outside wasn't not very welcoming. It looked like it had been abandoned but the receptionist did explain that the hotel was being renovated. There was a lot of broken glass on the ground driving to the Annex.

"Great value and location"

It was clean, and the location was good for me, close to the countryside. The guy on reception was lovely.

Unfortunately the fire doors in the lodge banged loudly and the first night people were coming in and out all night, with four fire doors so it wasn't a good night. The second night was much quieter so I guess it is luck.
