Argonaut Hotel

We really enjoyed this hotel. It has fun seaside vibe and decor. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the location was perfect. The room was clean and quiet which we really appreciated. I never heard another guest during my entire stay. They have a nice restaurant for drinks and food. It felt very safe. I would choose this hotel for location alone, it was a quick walk to the Alcatraz ferry, dinner on the water or to cable or street cars in two directions. Perfect!

We had the most exceptional service! My boyfriend’s best friend proposed to his girlfriend while we were in San Francisco! Johanna and the front office team went above and beyond to make sure we’re comfortable and celebrated with a lovely note, chocolate, and champagne for the happy couple! From valet to the bartenders, everyone was so kind and happy to assist. I always find an excuse to come to San Francisco so I can stay here! I’m in a distance relationship with my boyfriend and we always have the most special time together at the Argonaut. Thank you so much for everything we will be back!

I’ve had consistently excellent experiences with the Argonaut Hotel and can’t recommend it highly enough. The Argonaut hotel is exceptional! Our room was safe, secure, clean and beautiful! All staff were kind, professional, and went out of their way to ensure a wonderful stay. Book your trip!!

We upgraded to a bay view room, but it was nothing like the pictures - the view was partial, unlike the picture on their website. Our room was directly on a super noisy street with inadequate sound protection. Bar closed at 10pm on a Friday. No hot drinks in our room. Comfy, but disappointing.

Although the hotel is nice, I am giving them two stars because we booked way in advance. However, when we arrived at the hotel one of the two rooms didn't have a working AC. We notified the front desk and they were not interested in resolving the issue immediately, nor did they accommodate us. At the end, we were told the AC was working but it was not. I would not come back to this hotel. We spent a day and night with two fans they provided instead of giving us another room. Talking about providing the best! A failure to the customer, better said.

He went above and beyond to help us with our booking and made the entire process smooth, welcoming, and truly memorable. Our room was incredible — the views were spectacular and easily one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located, but what really stood out was the exceptional staff. Every interaction felt warm, professional, and genuinely guest-focused. The rooms are great, but the staff is fantastic! Chris helped me get settled - super kind and respectful, which goes a long way.

Hotel was cozy. Staff was helpful. Room Was clean. On site Blue Mermaid is a decent restaurant, but the cocktail bar was wow!
