"Go somewhere else"

Pool so cold kids would not get in. Hot tub walled off with plywood. Breakfast biscuits dry and hard, need more than plastic fork. Sausage dry and tough. Was offered a $10/day discount. Reason went there was for pool for kids. The other hotel in Maquoketa is $30-50 less. Go there or look into the bnb in town or stay in DeWitt or Dubuque.

"BEWARE!!!!! BED BUGS!!!!!!"

My wife and I stayed at this hotel and found a small bug on one of the pillows in the morning. I took a picture but at the time was not too concerned with it as neither of us appeared to have any bites. I was not aware that bed bug bits take hours and days to appear. The next day, my wife had nearly 50 bite marks on her body. And, after taking a closer look at the picture of the bug we found, found it was a bed bug. I wish I had read the reviews on here before we took this trip, because the infested room we stayed in was the same room that someone else had complained about bed bugs on Tripadvisor, 224. So it appears the hotel knew the room had an issue with bed bugs, and continues to put guests in that room. The "manager", Ish, has confirmed that they had a prior complaint about bed bugs in that room, and that it wasn't "handled properly", which I believe means they did nothing. I asked for a refund due to them putting us in a room which they knew was infested with bed bugs, and his response was "why would I give a refund, you've already written a bad review." So not only is the room dirty and bed bug infested, the customer service is also truly awful. Avoid at all costs, if you must stay here, avoid any rooms on the second floor, which appears to be where the bed bug infestation is located.

"Overall it was a nice stay for one night."

Great location and friendly staff!

The shower was sub par. It did not have any water pressure. The carpet looked worn and like it needs to be updated. There was dog hair on the top cover of the bed.
