Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort

My wife and I rarely visit the same resort twice, but our visit here last year was so perfect that we just didn't feel we could have improved upon it - so here we are again. I have spent most of the last 40 years working in different parts of the world, and have been extremely privileged to have stayed in the best hotels imaginable (I've also spent plenty of time in the rest!) This is right up there at the top for me. I have tried to find something which could be improved upon, if only as useful feedback to the management - but I have failed. I want to particularly compliment the attitude of the staff here. There are no ordinary receptionists, ordinary waiters or waitresses, no ordinary pool attendants, or chambermaids... even the guy painting woodwork in one of the public areas gave us a brilliant smile this morning. This is an establishment populated only by extraordinary, friendly professionals - and I know we will be back! TripAdvisor - please give me more than just 5 stars to allocate!

The Location of Prinseca Yiaza is perfect for the local beaches, bars and restaurants plus you are halfway to the Marina too. The hotel staff couldn't be more helpful and really made us feel very welcome. Nothing was a problem and they were always upbeat and positive. This made our stay even better. I would fully recommend this hotel for couples and families.

Everything you could ask was catered for. Staff without fail were all extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent location between marina and resort centre along beautiful promenade pathway. Initially sea view in Block A, which was overlooking the adjacent empty plot and adjacent bars, therefore was noisy. We therefore changed to a pool/sea view room suite in Block C. (248) This was excellent and enjoyed the afternoon sun on the balcony, better appointed and far quieter. Rooms and suite are very large and well appointed. A little tired but no complaints and very clean. Excellent maid service, although the turndown service was sometimes as early as 16.30. Only ate in the buffet restaurant. There was a choice of three for breakfast and one in the evening. Didn't try the Japanese or al a carte, as the food was excellent and we were more than happy. The Italian was excellent, try the prawn pizza. Main lower pool was excellent. Sunbeds are comfortable and plentiful, although there were towel reservations being made for the prime spots very early. May be different at busier times as hotel occupancy was low. Seawater and very cold. The top pool was warmer and used more by families with children. Evening adult entertainment was disappointing. There was an artist in the lobby bar between 8pm and 10pm, who were good and varied. There is a fantastic and very large theatre but only used twice. We were informed as it wasn't summer that it wasn't being used to its potential. We always book a couples massage but the cost of this at the hotel spa was €355 for a 70min treatment. We appreciate you pay more at the hotel, especially when 5 star, but still felt was totally extortionate. We therefore opted to visit the Manè Wellness Centre, a short walk towards town, which was excellent and a fraction of the price. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would consider returning...many do.

Returned to celebrate birthday and 65 years together. Hotel made us welcome as before and even provided a cake! Lovely friendly staff. Great sea front location and good food. Sea view suite with views of swimming pool and marina was wonderful. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone visiting Playa Blanca

Always a lovely holiday at Princesa Yaiza. Very accommodating and nothing too much trouble by all staff. Made us feel very special. Breakfast was delicious and always fresh. I received a very thoughtful ‘thank you’ card and chocolates as it was our third time of booking. Will definitely be booking again.

Everything was perfect from checking in to checking out! All staff were amazing - polite, friendly & helpful! Our room or should I say suite was huge with a beautiful view over the pool & sea. All areas within the hotel were spotless! The Lobby bar was a great place to sit, relax & enjoy the varied entertainment each evening! The bar staff in the Lobby Bar were excellent - polite & efficient! The location of the hotel was perfect with direct access to the promenade with an easy walk to either the marina to the left or the centre of Playa Blanca to the right. This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in & we will definitely be back!

We will definitely be returning had a fabulous stay, it was everything we had hoped for and more. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Princess Yaiza is perfect for families with children. Of the four resort holidays we've done so far with our little one, this was the best. We even liked it more than the famous Sani, even though it wasn't as 'luxurious.' ROOM: the suite was spacious and we found it comfortable. Bed and sofa were a little too soft and uncomfortable for me at 7 months pregnant, although I did love the huge pillows as I could use one like a pregnancy pillow. I could see it being too warm in the room in the hottest months though as the air con is quite old fashioned and you can't control the temperature. But for a holiday in May it was absolutely fine. One day they hadn't cleaned our room by 4pm so I requested a clean on the web app and they came right away. As we were in the suite early in the evening, it was nice to have all the UK channels and a chocolate left on our pillows. My daughter slept in a wooden cot that was large enough still for her as a long 3 year old. She had a little sheet and blanket provided that was comfortable for her, but no pillow. FOOD: we did half board as it was just easier with a three year old. Found breakfast excellent in terms of quality and choice. For the most part we also really liked the evening buffet, the Italian evening was especially good. As vegetarians we always found there was a good variety of tasty food for us and the food was always hot and fresh. If I were to be picky, I'd say there could be more veg options for the kids buffet, eg plain peas or carrots. I ate at the pool restaurant one lunchtime and found that tasty with quick service. There's a very good supermarket across the road as well which was handy for water, lunch and snacks. I do wish that the hotel has drinking water dispensers which has always been a standard at any other resort I've been to. POOLS: We never had issues getting three sunbeds together by the toddler pool in the main bit of the hotel, and some days we didn't venture down there until lunchtime! Water was warm enough to get in comfortably. We also spent a day at the pool in the Capitan Park which was very quiet! The unofficial 'adults' pool did seem a lot busier, although nobody seemed to actually swim in the pool. KIDS AMENITIES: Everything that a pre-schooler could dream of - a very good indoor soft play, free activities all day long in Capitan Park, playgrounds, crafts, face painting, splash activities, a mini disco every day, and the staff were for the most part friendly, engaged and remembered my daughter's name. My only small criticism is that 7.30pm is a bit late for a kids disco to start for the majority of little ones - we had a really overtired and tantruming 3 year old on the evenings that we went! LOCATION: Right next to a lovely beach with clear water, a nice walk down to Playa Blanca with all its bars, shops and restaurants, gorgeous views over to Fuerteventura - it was much better than the location of other resorts we've been to in terms of having a reason to leave the resort itself. And only a half hour drive to the airport as well. Can't speak to the evening entertainment or spa as we didn't make it to either, maybe next time. I did really like the theatre area and the bar service was attentive. Overall I was really impressed with this hotel and we would definitely return.
