Thunderbird Beach Resort

Loved it will definitely be staying here again. The property does need some upgrades, or it just needs to be taken care of a little better (the hot tub looks its age, and a couple floor boards in the room were poking up) but overall it’s great. You can walk to anything and Ubers are always less than a minute away. The tiki bar is amazing we got to see a different band each night, and the drinks are great.

We loved our stay!! Parking is very limited but made it work because the location was great.

Did not like the fact that the restaurant was under construction if I would have known this I would have stayed elsewhere

We really enjoyed our stay at the Thunderbird. The view from our balcony awesome. Live music every day from around noon to nine. The tiki bar was great.Close to everything. The room and facilities were very clean. Beach was great. The best thing was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating and Nicole at the front desk was really nice and helpful.

Restaurants around the area were horrible. We got food poisoning

The room was very clean. We felt very safe as the resort security was very visible and accessible. The staff was very kind and helpful!

I don't think I've ever been more happy to leave a hotel. Too many outdoor bars, drunk people and way too loud live music. I guess the owners want to make even more money from all of that rather than investing in a property that is getting horribly deteriorated. Bathrooms are awful, with our 2 queen room having a 2 foot wide sink counter with no room for toiletries. The bathtub drained slowly when having a shower. Mattresses feel like they should have been replaced 10 years ago and pillows aren't much better. Cleaning staff were great but, for some reason, would only give 2 washcloths per day (not much for 2 women in a 2 queen room.) I found the front staff slightly arrogant and not horribly friendly. Coffee, in an urn is offered in the lobby, but sits for ages before more is made (and just powdered creamer.) The front entrance door does not automatically open and you struggle big-time to bring your luggage through. Parking is minimal and chaotic if the hotel is full. Overall, it was not a great time.

The young woman that checked us in was not very nice to say the least. She gave us two bottles of water in a gift bag. Told us how to get to the room. No mention of the tiki bar, live music or that they even provide towels at the pool. We loved the property its self, old Florida smaller hotel, bright colors, well worn: that was fine. As someone who is in management for customer service, this was unacceptable. Smile, greet the customer, inform them, thank them. It was actually very sad; we didn’t really feel welcome,. I was just an inconvenience she had to deal with. My grandparents owned the Buccaneer that was next door to the thunderbird back in the 60s&70s. I went for an experience of nostalgia, couldn’t even get a smile. Was checked out by the same girl - still a delight(sarcasm). For almost $300 off season, I would expect a kinder, more welcoming experience, to say the least.

The bed was very hard. The years of updating only occurred to the ocean front rooms. The suites were really not that sweet. They want Hilton Money for Econo lodge.
