La Bagnaia Golf Resort

The Bagnaia Golf Resort is located in the Tuscan countryside a few miles south of Siena. The hotel accommodation is situated in several ancient buildings which formed a delightful borgo and have been tastefully restored and decorated. The facilities, rooms, food and above all the staff are all excellent. The staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly at all times. We had a Deluxe room which comprised a large bedroom and spacious bathroom. The bedroom was authentically decorated and furnished with a large comfy bed and included a small fridge which was really useful. The choice at breakfast was extensive with fruits, meats, cheeses, hot food and pastries all on offer. The choice at dinner was limited but the quality of the food was excellent. The golf course is extensive and set in the rolling landscape around the resort. We played twice with clubs hired onsite and used a buggy which was a must in the hot weather as it is a long course with many hills. All the staff at the golf course were really helpful, friendly and courteous. The clubhouse is a beautiful building on top of a hill with panoramic views of the course. The pro shop, bar & restaurant, changing facilities including showers were all excellent and the young caddy masters were really helpful. The course is a good test and was in very good condition and well maintained. Talking with Martin the course professional we were interested to hear how low the number of golfers in Italy is compared to Spain and Portugal. During our stay we visited Siena and Florence which are both beautiful but different in feel due their size difference. We used the train from Siena to visit Florence which was easy and relatively cheap, particularly the €2 all day parking at Siena railway station. The trains were regular, punctual and of a good standard. We would thoroughly recommend the Bagnaia Golf Resort for golf and as a base to discover the Tuscan countryside!

Be aware-air conditioner is NOT turned on until June 15! There was a heat wave and we had to insist that they turn it on 1 week earlier for us. But it was sub-par and did not cool our room at night.

I LOVE this resort. I’ve stayed all three times I’ve visited Italy. The room was beautiful and had a view of the Tuscan hills, the village and the golf course. The hotel staff was fabulous, the breakfast is wonderful. The restaurant menu is limited, but the food has always been wonderful. I’ve never seen any US tourists, but lots of Italians.

Fantastic medieval village that is now a quirky and lovely hotel. All staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was delicious and they catered well for my gluten free needs. The golf course was a good test. A lot of bunkers!! And excellent practise facilities. Great clubhouse. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely awful hotel. Bugs, no working air conditioning, rude and ignoring hotel guests manager and worst of all.. no water in the pool in May. Hotel failure.
