Phoenix Flower Hotel

The room was small but comfortable with a gorgeous view of the pool and gardens. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was typical Vietnamese style (not ours though). Unfortunately the bathroom flooded every time we showered as the sewerage system was not good- but that’s been our experience all through.

If I have to be honest with my review this accommodation wasn’t great. It didn’t feel like a hotel, it felt more like a ‘dorm’ style accommodation with concrete walls and it felt like we were the only guests staying in the entire complex. The bed was hard, the pillows were also hard and lumpy, the shower and toilet are in the same room with no curtain around the shower which means you need to clear the bathroom before having a shower because everything gets wet. There was also hair on the pillow which wasn’t mine and some of the bread at breakfast was mouldy. The photos advertising this hotel are misleading because it’s not like that in real life. The beach that ‘was’ in front of the hotel is now one big construction zone and the ‘beach’ view is further out. I feel for the owners because the beautiful view that they had is now gone. It would be nice if they updated the photos. Having said all this the owner was so lovely and I do feel bad posting this but as a traveller I feel I need to be honest and of course this is my experience only, some may have a different experience.

Nothing against the hotel, but the harbour is being under construction, so basically a building site! To be honest quite fascinating, but not pretty. They work 24/7 so floodlights all through the night! Nice hotel. Breakfast not the best!

Amber was so so kind and accommodating. As a vegan herself, she gave me recommendations on vegan restaurants, she helped me book a guided tour and a bus home, and she even offered me late check out so I could enjoy the beach longer. Plus she has an adorable dog. The hotel itself was lovely- great location, right in the center of town, and has everything you need.

The hotel was perfect. The only thing to note, and it has nothing to do with the hotel, is that there is a luxury mega complex under construction across the street which has taken over the view from pretty much the entire center of town. So just know that the photos of the view aren't necessarily up to date. Most places around the area are affected by this unfortunately. But the hotel and the restaurants nearby and the location in general was great, and it's important to give these places our money so this construction doesn't hurt their business!

The location of the hotel was good, few minutes walking from the main restaurant and bars. The room was quite big and also the bathroom had a good size. The staff was super kind and supportive. They booked all my tours and transfers directly and everything has been managed properly.

I have booked a room with side sea view. The sea view is completely gone. The city has started a huge construction on the beach and the sea view and the beach are not existing anymore. Of course it’s not the hotel fault as the city is building a new touristic area for the future, but at least I could have been informed that there is no view anymore. Breakfast was a bit poor quality. I was expecting a buffet but you could order only one plate at a time with pancakes and Banh My (the baguette with eggs). Also the dining area was a bit dirty (table cloth). I would recommend to at least clean it between guests, above all if there are not so many tourist.
