Denali Park Village

July 2021. People finally able to get out and travel. Staff was pressured . Hotel full. Paid top dollar for room 705. Horrible view of road, cars and tour busses. Rug in room dirty. Laid towels over it. Setting by River in mountains was the redeeming feature. Decent gift shop.

I wish i could change the evaluation categories: Beauty of surroundings: 10 our of 10! Graciousness of the staff: 10 out of 10 Areas to enjoy nature: 10 out of 10 Availability for food options: 4 out of 10. They existed. Breakfast- grab and go or very expensive buffet options. Lunch- grab and go only Dinner- sit down dinner only but limited seating due short staff This would not have rated so low except the night the restaurant was closed they provided a shuttle to the valley area where more restaurants were- which were all closed or required reservations. We had to chooze between subway or chinese. Ick. Another night we waited 40 minutes at the hotel restaurant to be told would be over an hour to be seated so we ordered to go and at on our beds. Just a bit frustrating. No fridge or microwave in room OR ON PROPERTY. They are doing the best they can with the short staff resources they have- so many staff members picked up extra duties and kept a smile the entire time.

This place was a surprise. It covers a lot of ground and has a lot to offer. I can only assume pre-pandemic this was a super fun place. Currently, it is still bustling but at about half of what it could be. It has many amenities, restaurants, shops, outdoor spaces and all of this on a river. The restaurant is large and the food is good, maybe a bit expensive. The rooms are a bit dated but quite adequate. Plus, who spends their time in Denali in their hotel room?!

This was our second stay here. Wifi was not great, unfortunately. Needed to figure out food as places on property closed before 10pm. Tough when you're out exploring the park or on excursions during the day. Dinner and ambience at the restaurant there was excellent and affordable. Glad we had a portable fan in our room. We needed it on warm days. One staff member at check-in did not know much about the area and promised to have another staffmember call us with answers to our questions. That never happened.

This property had no pool or hot tub and NO AIR CONDITIONER. The room got stuffy so we opened a window and plugged up a fan but it's light outside, so it's hard to sleep. There is no refrigerator and no microwave. The restaurant on site was not open and there are no snacks at the gift shop.

The cabins that are actually dorm type. Next to a river is awesome when you're just resting. The restaurant, esp if you opt for outdoor dining next to a river is sooo wonderful! I expected an elevator and was disappointed that I had to drag my luggage on the stairway. Else, perfect!

The property was easy to find and fairly large. It was near good walking trails, which was nice. The rooms were fine. Nothing super fancy, but it was a good location. The staff were extremely nice. Lodging in Alaska is very expensive. Many places were closed due to Covid. Finding food was a challenge. I would stay again at the Denali Park Village.

There is very limited dining options. The only restaurant closed quite earlier at 9pm for the date we were there and there is no any place to buy food at night, and end up hungry for the whole night.
