Zephyr Mountain Lodge

Beautiful resort!! Only negative is our room does not have air conditioning so it stayed pretty warm. They provided us an extra fan upon request. We loved our stay!

After having not skied in over 30 years I decided to join my sister's family on their annual ski trip. Their destination was Winter Park. I decided to drag my daughter along who had only skied a few times. We took some lessons before we went and the skiing was great...but this isn't about the skiing. When we decided to go to Winter Park we started to look for places to stay. As were ski trip newbies we really didn't want to try and figure out the transportation so wanted to stay close. When we arrived, even though I had watched bunch of videos, I could not believe how convenient this was. The "room" was great. A one bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room and then a bathroom between the two spaces. A nice kitchen with everything you needed to make a meal. We had purchased some food on the way in so we could make our breakfast each morning before heading out as well as have snacks when we returned at the end of the day. We thought we'd take a break each day and return for lunch but we did that just the first day, realizing time on the mountain was too precious to miss so the last two days we grabbed some snacks on the mountain (and also consumed the Uncrustables we brought along). I know there are "nicer" places at other resorts but for the money I'm not sure this can be beat. You can tell the place isn't "new" but it was still in great shape. The staff was friendly and it was so great to be able to walk over to the ski rental place (where they allow you to keep your rental skis overnight) each morning and grab your skis and head to the lifts. I definitely didn't get my daily steps in because everything was so close. We are now planning annual ski trips and I know the bar set by the Zephyr in terms of convenience and quality of stay will be incredibly hard to beat. I'm guessing we will return again very soon.

Trains run very close to the property and are very loud

Everything was good except the bed. There was a thick, too soft pad on it. The bed therefore was way too soft. Worst of all, the fitted sheet kept coming off, making things very uncomfortable.

What a great place to stay!! Beautiful area and the rooms are condos, so it was like being in a home away from home. The people are super nice as well. And it’s right at Winter Park base so the area is gorgeous! One important thing to keep in mind is that due to the average highs in the lower 70s and low humidity, the units don’t have AC, so if it’s going to be unseasonably warm, that could be an issue for some.

Condo was awesome text communication was great. They were able to give us early check in that was much appreciated.
