Sonder at McKinley

Wonderful property, super comfortable and clean and great facilities. A few good restaurants around. Only downside was the homeless people around.

I really enjoyed the concept of Sonder at McKinley. Getting access to the building and the rooms with key codes, any questions or request going through the app, and everything overall being online, with no "front desk" to deal with. It felt very independent and the rooms were very nice, with balconies and full kitchens. One thing that was slightly frustrating was the internet going in and out every few minutes, especially since I was here for a conference and needing to work in between. It was also almost impossible to use the Chromecast since the internet is needed to sync devices.

Great stay

Great location not far from Convention Center! Will definitely stay again if I am in Phoenix. Mikes Big Breakfast a block away is so good, Went every day. I had to extend my stay due to Hurricane back home and Sonder was very accommodating in making that emergency change.

Furniture is to be desired, couch is old and lumpy, noisy (but this is normal it is in downtown)

The property itself was great, clean, roomy, smelled great and the bed was comfortable. The only part i would say wasnt great for me, was if you dont read the several emails. It was a bit difficult to get there. The door reads the stewart, but when booking it read its called the sonder at McKinley, so that was confusing. When u get a rode share and they drop you off near a parking garage, and i had no clue where it was based on the name. So think about arriving from airport, your tired, hungry and jist want to get to your room all the while holding several pieces of luggage, only to find out you didnt read those very important emails that will instruct you wil several lieces of inportant info. Like a different door codes just to navigate.. So my take away, is if you want a hotel stay this isnt it, but if you read those email and download their app you will be fine and it really was a great stay.

This was a short trip to see Iron Maiden, but morphed to a small getaway. Our Granddaughter, as we found out, had Fall Break, after the concert date. She is our little tail, as far as concerts, she has seen her shows of Metal. None, better than Maiden. Sonder was better than expected, aside from remembering the code numbers. When I ordered the room, it took about 2.5 weeks for the information about Sonder to download. IDK why, it takes that long??? Aside from that, the main room was excellent, separate room, shared 2nd room. The kitchen with all of the utensils and glass ware. The kitchen island was an added bonus, with the complete living room. Washer & Dryer was an added bonus. It was relaxing with the swimming pool on the top floor, looking down on DT Phoenix.

Amazing view, great for an asthma and allergy-friendly family vacation. Comfy bed (we got a king sized one - apt. no. 1316), spacious apartment, pack n play available for our toddler. The kitchen had a complete set of utensils and everything we needed. We did not have noise issues on our side of the building. The app was very convenient. Did not need cleaning so can't comment on that but the apt was clean when we arrived. Air conditioning worked well during record hot temps.Elevator access was convenient. Parking for 15 USD per day, easy entry in and out with the transponder, our spot was on the 7th floor so a bit of driving. We did actually use the light rail due to the heat but could have done so, to get to the conference center. Improvements: (1) Bedroom: Replacement of chest of drawers in the bedroom - somewhat worn, drawers get stuck easily; (2) Bathroom: Addition towel hooks next to the sink and a longer towel rail in the bathroom (the one over the toilet was not enough), The only improvements would be: (3) Bathroom: Increase in water pressure - it was generally lowish, probably a feature of the building. With water pressure this low, it would be worth removing flow limitors (if the shower heads have them built-in) (4) Stacked washer-dryer: the rubber around the door of the washer needs a good clean since the washer door should be left open after a wash, in order to air dry (humidity does not air out when the door is closed after a wash)

If you like urban life, its a good place. Make sure to save your code for door while you are there. Pool very nice.

I had a great stay in this cute and cozy studio!! It was nice staying somewhere safe and secure and very clean! Being able to go out and look out on the balcony was awesome! My only complaint is the pillows were not very comfortable, i definitely recommend bringing your own pillow. That was my mistake. Otherwise 10/10!
