Super 8 by Wyndham Ava

It’s the only hotel in town so your options are limited

We were put in a room that was less than acceptable. The shower curtain was moldy, the bed was hard as a rock, the room and the walls were cracked and peeling. The whole hotel smelled like mildew and cigarette smoke. And overall the hotel was dirty. The staff took their smoke breaks right outside of the front doors so there was no way to avoid walking through a cloud of cigarette smoke. The staff also sat in the lobby shoes off ignoring guests as they were coming and going. Free continental breakfast was old fruit and Raisin Bran while we don’t care much for hotel breakfasts the limited options in Ava left us scrounging for food after the at best mediocre breakfast that the super 8 offered. We booked our room for two nights while in town for a funeral but left as soon as we could to get out of this hotel.

It was quite close to Hwy 5.

Good location, large room.

Very unclean. The carpet edges hadn't been vacuumed in ages. Only the surfaces of the furniture were wiped down. The computer chair was nasty with spills and crumbs. Crushed lamp shade, rusty lamp bases. Poor lighting. The only mirror was in the bathroom, making it the only place anyone could get ready. The sink wasn't in a separate room from the shower/toilet so only one person could get ready at a time. Having more mirrors and lighting would've fixed this. The sofa was broken down, and it's cushions were lumpy. The shower poured as much water or of the bathtub spout as it did out of the shower head, giving the shower head no water pressure. At over $100 per night, I expected better.

The ice machine didn't work and staff on sight couldnt help. We only had two pillows on a king size bed.

Staff quite accommodating and friendly.

The lighting in the room is poor unless you turn on every lamp. Exhaust fan in bathroom noisy.

Hotel was in a good location and the room was clean.

Not ADA friendly. Some equipment out of order.

The lighting in the room was very poor. The front desk did not show much interest in us and the breakfast nook was quite skimpy with the juice machine out of order. One of the mornings there was no hot water for tea.

It suck. A little package of donuts n toast

The view from my window was a broken down school bus outside. The breakfast suck. It needed to be painted. Old furniture. I used to sell timeshare for you. I never thought I would get this kind of place. Never again

Clean room. Good customer service. Easily accessible from the highway. Safe location. Huge parking space.
