Travellers Beach Resort

We have just returned from staying at Travellers Beach Hotel for 1 month. Travellers is such a fantastic Jamaican family owned hotel (there are a few in Negril ) if you want to stay at a hotel where they make you feel like family and genuinely make you feel welcomed this is the place for you whether you are single, couple or family there is something for everyone. The hotel team are a credit to Travellers and I am not just referring to the front facing team I also refer to maintenance, gardening/ care taking team / housekeepers. Not once did any team member walk past us no matter what time of day it was without saying hello or good night. We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms on the ground floor. These rooms are a good size and the refurbishment is well thought out, enough sockets in the correct place, large long mirror, proper lighting in the bedroom and bathroom, excellent air conditioning and ceiling fan. My favourite white fluffy towels every day and really good quality mattresses. We always looked forward to returning to our room as housekeeping was spotless we almost felt guilty at bringing in the slightest bit of sand so we really tried not to. The bar so so good we loved it and we did eat quite a few times in the restaurant the menu had something for everyone the food is really good . A good quality gym on site with no half dead equipment here better than some 4/5 star hotels ! This is a 3 star hotel with a 5 star team, 5 star location right on the beach and definitely 5 star vibe. Oh and not forgetting the real stars of the show the cats !! they really let us know this was their home by 3 of them sleeping on our patio chairs every night and did not even move when we came home in the early hours! Note for any single ladies this is the perfect hotel to stay I would definitely come back by myself as you feel so safe at the hotel and the male members of the team are absolutely respectful and professional.This was my second visit and I will definitely be back. Only one comment is that they need a few more beach umbrellas but they have good quality beach chairs. Negril is absolutely fabulous as no cruise passengers… bliss

I rely heavily on Trip Advisor reviews when choosing a vacation spot so when I take a trip I try to provide a long and detailed review. Check in at Travellers was easy and the ladies at the desk were friendly and helpful. We arrived around 3:30 PM and our room was ready. The room itself was a bit disappointing. We had a "superior" grade room. Definitely in need of some renovation. VERY small. Two queen beds which were comfortable. Long piece of furniture with older glass top which could be used as a desk if needed. Small closet with safe. Nice balcony (we were on second floor) with two chairs and garden view. Old fan which had only one speed that was so fast we thought the blades were going to come flying off! Good A/C. Bathroom very small with bowl type sink with slow drainage. Bathroom was clean but old. Waterfall and hand held shower heads. Water pressure not great and water lukewarm instead of hot (as other reviewers have noted). Showering at odd times helped. Double doors to bathroom were old and could not be tightly shut. Plenty of pillows, towels were soft and thick, and the room was very clean. No dusky or dank smell. Housekeeping was pretty good about providing requested extra towels, shampoo, etc. Grounds were quiet, immaculate, well kept with lots of tropical vegetation. Pool was small but we did not use it since we spent all of our time at the beach. On site restaurant was good. We ate all of our meals there during our 4 day stay. Food was generally tasty and portions were generous. Drinks were good. Service could be slow but hey-it's the islands! Stephan and Rodgers were there for dinner service. Definitely try to get them. They were friendly and efficient. Prices for food and drinks were reasonable. Private beach in front of Travellers is VERY shallow waters edge to building structure. Sand is kept clean. Plenty of comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas but since the beach is so small if it gets crowded you are right on top of other guests. NOTE: Guests would get down to beach very early and put their towels down on lounge chairs to "reserve' them. We tried to get down there by 8:30 AM. Beach attendant/life guard works really hard putting out chairs and umbrellas so please tip him! Staff at Travellers were VERY friendly and polite and always asking if there was anything that we needed. Takes bout 15 min to walk into town to a grocery store, Burger king, pizza place. So...my overall assessment is if you are seeking a smaller quieter property with a lovely staff and are willing to accept my comments about the room and the beach this would be a good choice. If you are seeking a lively spot with lots of water sports and night action this is not for you. Hope this helps.

Food

room service on night 2 in the evening never sent me the dinner menu upon request

Så koselig og fint hotell. De har en atmosfære der som gjør at det føles ut som et andre hjem. Alle er veldig søte, imøtekommende og behjelpelige der - de som jobber på stranden, ved bassenget, i resepsjonen og i restauranten. De gjør det de kan for at du skal føle deg trygg og det var viktig for meg, spesielt siden jeg alene. Kenneth sjaføren hotellet bruker var også fantastisk!! Også veldig bra utstyrt gym. Takk for meg travellers, jeg vil savne det ❤️

Stranda er finere og bredere på resortene lenger opp på 7 mile. Dårlig internett, på rommet fungerte det ikke i det hele tatt.

L'emplacement, le charme de l'endroit

Nous avions pris deux types de chambre, la nôtre "cottage" était parfaite, celle des enfants tout au fond du bâtiment sur le parking ... pourquoi ai je régulièrement l'impression que nous récupérons les moins bonnes chambres en passant par booking ?

Good variety in breakfasts.

I had to go to the front desk to report a problem with the AC in our room after a power outage stemming from a sudden downpour. I was talking to one individual when another decided to interrupt with a request to include my address and email on some form. You should already have that by now considering the number of times we've stayed there as well as my booking online This individual decided to further the annoyance by asking me to send yet another passport picture of my wife. They tried doing this at least twice when we checked in.

Was a great stay

Lovely location on 7 mile beach and the garden-like grounds are beautiful, fragrant and have songbirds! Coconut shrimp were delicious. All the staff were trying their best to be helpful.

Occasional road noise, low water pressure, curry was bland and evening entertainment was fun, but too loud.
