"Great place, let down horribly by staffing issues"

Location and facilities

Our expectations were set by the many welcome to Paradisus greetings as we arrived from our taxi. They were then immediately dashed. Check-in was at the non-standard 3pm against our expectation of 2pm BUT we were left waiting, saying they’d contact us by WhatsApp when ready, with me making 3 trips back to reception to eventually get access to our room over an hour late. We were told the single bed would be made up later. When we returned from dinner at 8:30 it still wasn’t done. It took a further 30 mins with my daughter sat ready for bed. Frankly it was appalling and ruined the first 24 hours or more, leaving us feeling anxious and stressed when we’d paid a small fortune to relax. Were we compensated or even really apologised to? No. The guy who made up the bed seemed to find it amusing that I was angry.

The manager named Yoga was amazing. He went over and above for us to ensure we were having the best time. He’s definitely worthy of a mention.

"Disappointing Renovation"

4.0

- Nice area - Some of the pool staff are incredible (Febris, Hari) - Middle eastern restaurant had some great staff - New restaurants look modern - New kids water park is awesome woth decent menu

- Been to the Melia 4 times now and this was by far the worst experience yet. Started off by needing to change rooms (loud children and banging against walls, loud russian shouting on the phone, babies crying through walls). Staff member told me building 3 was 'adults only' and I felt like it was implied I was lying. Manager was great and changed our room to building 4 which he assured was adults only (maybe the younger boy got the buildings confused?) - The best part about the Melia used to be the food. All restaurants have been renamed and menus changed. El Patio and the Beach Restaurant used to be INCREDIBLE (giant prawns/beautiful Aussie steaks). El Patio would offer an amazing menu for lunch time but is now called something new and is buffet style (lunch and dinner). Massive downgrade. Beach restaurant now has brand new building which includes aquarium. Looks incredible but menu and food was disgusting. Spanish restaurant was nice. Middle eastern great. The lack of standard mi goreng and nasi goreng is appaling (everything is pretentious and over complicated). - Pool menu and quality of food is now poor. Mainly the quality of ingredients. - Worst part of the stay was the music. THUMPING bass and loudness no matter where you are. Could hear the beach music from the room as if it was next door. Same goes in the water park. Impossible to have a conversation at dinner with the volume. - Usually stay in the Reserve rooms to use adults only pool but what a disappointment that has become. They've removed all the nice greenery and trees in that area and dumped a load of metal loungers in front of the cabanas. We saw a maximum of 5 people in there. Looks like a concrete jungle. - The old beach restaurant area has been cleared and just left with bare sand. Beach bar now desolute and abandoned. Loud thumping music with no customers there. Almost as if the bar stay have their own little parties. - Rock hard beds and lumpy pillows.

"The hotel is looking amazing l"

The resort was lovely and a very staff helpful. Near all the nice parts of Nusa Dua.

How they do that. That you could not use the adult pool without upgrading and paying more. We didn't have kids and wanted to have some real-time without kids.
