Summit Hotel at Big Sky Resort

Epic Spring skiing with the great people at Big Sky resort! We loved our one-bedroom suite with views of the slopes, and how close we were to the ski valet and chair lifts. Kayla Webster, the concierge manager, personally helped me plan my whole itinerary and the front desk people were super helpful with check in, they even got our lift tickets for us! My son and I booked a whole day private lesson, which was a great way to learn the mountain, work on our skiing, and skip the lift lines. Raini was our guide, and I would definitely recommend him. The spa and outdoor hot tub were great, and they serve drinks too! We ate all our meals on property and the food is good with a number of restaurants to choose from. We ate breakfast every morning at Peaks which was perfect as it was downstairs from our room, and steps from the ski valet. Huge mountain with every type of terrain to choose from, and really nice bowls. We will definitely be back!

Just left a weekend stay at the Summit Hotel in Big Sky. Our first time staying at the Summit. We were greeted by an awesome valet who wasted no time loading our stuff onto the cart and immediately taking it with us to our room. Room was nice, only qualm is the quality of the mattresses. Our only two options were the Murphy bed Queen or the double Queen and we opted for the double as Murphy beds notoriously have the bar going under the bottom. Mattresses were not very comfortable, sunken on sides so we had to sleep in different beds in the middle of the mattress. Friends at the resort told us they were doing the same. If this resort would upgrade their beds and had more king room Options, I think it would go a long way. We hoped to get a few more runs in the morning of checkout but our backs were killing us from the mattresses. Our favorite employee was Jamie at Peaks. We ate all of our meals there and really enjoyed his company. He was extremely professional and attentive, made the best coffee I’ve had in eons and wonderful cocktails. The Summit is lucky to have someone like Jamie. Though it was spring break, we really didn’t see a ton of kids and it was relatively quiet, which we appreciated. If it wasn’t for Jamie, I’d give the entire experience a 4 star because of mattresses, but I’m raising it to a 5 because of him. We were very impressed by the quality of food at the Summit, and enjoyed every meal we had.

The spa is filled with kids running around non stop and yelling 150% of the time, splashing and not really being attended.. the room had no fire place even though all the pictures show that it had, the reason I booked the queen studio snd not the king room was because on the pictures it showed it had a fireplace. They didn’t have a room with a fire place to move us to. Honestly it was a dealbreaker.. and the only thing they told us was “tonight we don’t have a room with fireplace it was unlucky you got one of the only rooms without” also they told me to not use booking.com next time to avoid it. Not sure who would be to blame but it definitely did not meet my expectations for what I paid when it did not have a fireplace on a skiing resort.. absurd.

Ski in and out. Great location. Great food. Very accommodating staff.

While not walkable to town, the resort offered a free private car and driver to and from. This was super practicable. The village itself is pretty small but there's still a large variety of bars and restaurants within steps of the hotel. Fantastic spa and pool sized hot tub of varying temperatures. The main lifts are closer than walking to the parking lot.
