"has some and some not"

6.0

The surroundings and the hotel areas are just gorgous.Beautiful garden, nice pool area and restaurant. The rooms are very large but outdated. The bathroom is just awful.Everything looked worn out and the shower sink was cloked. The hotel has not a central location.

"Highly Recommended"

8.0

We were pleasantly surprised when we finally got there! Our GPS took us a very inconvenient way through the mountain though so it was difficult to find at first. However, the views were spectacular and the grounds were immaculate! Our only complaint was the service at the restaurant -- they only had one server on duty and she spoke little English so it was difficult to communicate when ordering food. We were also a little disappointed that all of the services were not offered at the time of our stay -- the pool bar areas were never open and only one of the two restaurants was open. Other than that, we had a wonderful time hiking the trails and swimming in the hot spring pool!

"The setting is magical"

10.0

The setting of Hotel Rio Perlas is wonderful. If you are the kind of person who likes to sit in your hotel room and watch TV and answer email, then this is not the place for you. To get out and hike the trails through the seemingly virgin forest/jungle makes for an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed the comfort of the room, the seclusion of the setting, being away from town, the staff and the food but by far the most enjoyable part of our stay was our time in the trees and by the creek as well as in the spa pools.

"Beautiful grounds, everything is dated, but nice."

8.0

It probably was 5 star when it was built, many decades ago. For what they charge no one should expect more than 3 stars, it lives up to that, and even goes a little beyond. It needs maintenance but it's clean. The grounds are beautiful, rooms are nice, pool was refreshing, and the staff are friendly. I would totally stay here again.
