Stayed in room 405 for the week of 5/17. Very pleasantly surprised, especiallly by the value. Booked pretty far in advance and got a great rate. Condo was updated and in good condition, bathroom could have used some work, shower was a little yucky but overall fine. good view of the beach even though not exactly an ocean front room. Great location in St. Pete, pool fine, a little on the small side but clean, warm and anyway you are only steps away from the beautiful beach and gulf. I would definitely stay here again, for the few minor cleanliness issues it was great for the price and had a more intimate feel than some of the much larger resorts, no crowds as there were no restaurants etc. attached to the resort.

Awesome place with many accommodations within walking distance. View was great but nothing beats walking out of your room right onto the beach! I'll def be back when I revisit St. Pete Beach

Had a very cute condo with everything a person could need. Staff in office very friendly and helpful. Quiet at night. Right on the beach where you can rent cabanas, chairs, etc. Perfect for a beach holiday.

We stay here every fall and always enjoy our stay.

Loved the condo! Only disappointment was the limited parking. Also, when I booked my reservation the agreement stated that all fees were included. However, when I arrived I did have to pay an additional $40 or $50 dollars that was not expected. Condo very cute and in a great location! Will stay there again. Reason for the "4" rating is only due to limited parking and bed wasn't very comfortable.

June 2012: We have stayed at the Gulf Strand 5 or 6 times over the last 7 or 8 years and each year it progressively gets more outdated and the units less clean. We aggressively requested a different unit (not #406 again)this go around, thinking that a different unit would be updated and cleaner and possibly have better beds - but no! The unit (#507) was extremely dirty and the second bed was impossibly to sleep in! You could not walk barefoot around without having dirty black feet. We killed what we are sure to be cockroaches and noticed Cockroach & Ant spray under the kitchen sink. It is very unfortunate because we love the area but we will not be staying at this property again! The units need to be thoroughly cleaned - professionally! and completely updated!

It was not up to my comfort level for a family the hotel is surrounded by hookers and homeless people. My wife got stuck in the elevator which they thought was family. Not quality for a family to be in that type of enviroment because the enviorment is not safe.
