Best Western - Freeport Inn

After spending two very hot days in NYC at a hotel with AC that didn't work very well, it was a welcome relief to have a room with a fully functional AC.

The entry/stairway was hot...just opening the windows might helped cool it down at night.

Lovely room overlooking the estuary, in the annex building just south of the bridge. Very clean and appeared to be recently remodeled.

Room was dirty and staff were loud outside listening to music talking on the phone.

Cafe next door was recommended it was very good.

Microwive in room was nasty

Was in more remote part of hotel a half mile down the road. The keys to the outside door did not work even after replacing them more than once (having to drive back to desk). this was the case for several other guests we spoke with. Staff rather rude in addressing this issue. Outside pet trash has not been emptied for what appeared to be a week. Map to remote building did not account for construction blocking the drive into the building meaning we had to drive past and then turn around somewhere in order to pull into the building. Rather confusing. This was not expained at check-in.

Went on line to get rate. Had to verify trip at home. Short time later rate went up 80%

This was a beautiful location with newly renovated rooms. The overall experience was good.

No breakfast, which for the cost, was surprising. Everything looked clean until we had a spill and wiped the floor. It was filthy. I don’t think the floors had been mopped in a while.
