Desire Riviera Maya Resort, Couples Only - Adults Only All Inclusive

This is the best lifestyle friendly resort that we have seen! Since the rentals have been completed, it is now modern and high class in the new section.

Cons first = definitely not enought partying. Most days besides 2 are a snoozefest at the pool. Why have a quiet pool if the party pool is also boring? The party team tries but no way is it anywhere near their other resort with the different name!! If they just bring it up a few more days poolside then i would return but as of now we wont be returning. And yes we went there fully knowing what it is and yes there was some things going on, mostly at night, but still a snoozefest! And if you enjoy working out as we did 4 days - the gym is pretty sad. I grew tired of having to manipulate machines just to get a workout in. So so glad i didnt give them the time or day to try to sell me membership! Pros = Amazing staff, clean for the most part but most people are dirty themselves walking around barefoot and walking into restrooms that way then coming back into the pool! They need to have someone posted at the restrooms and enforce wearing flip flops! Food is ok, mostly fine. Dont try to eat sushi in mexico lol. For the most part it was just a regular vacation, nothing special here. Go to a regular adults only, its the same and save your money. We wanted to leave after the 3rd day.

Very accommodating even after a misunderstanding at check in. Went above and beyond to resolve the issue. Manager came and resolved the problem and made sure we were happy.

The vibe was great! Service was impeccable and the playmakers were awesome. It was sooooo much fun.

We have been going to Desire RM for years (about 30 trips) and the resort completely lost it’s vibe that gave them all those 5star reviews in the past. Most of us used to close our eyes to most stuff that definitely does not meet 5star hotel level as we were not there for the “room or food”.The sensual atmosphere, all vibe between the guests and entertainment was what attracted loyal guests to keep booking trip after trip. Everything changed with opening of Eden. Whoever designed it has no idea what resort is about and most likely never bothered to come to the resort as a guest. They turned the hidden paradise into yet another commercial building, looking to get the most money they can but completely destroyed what resort used to be: small boutique hotel that had it’s own community, where everyone knew each other by name and staff was like family. And changes are obvious: entertainment was horrible ( DJ can’t “read the room”, actually looked like he and violinist have not rehearsed the performance, sounded like dying cat noise with the beat),playmakers should get together with Mia, Anna or DD and get lessons what means to be a paymaker. The main pool had dirt floating by the stairs for at least 2 days and then they decided to clean the white pool chairs WHILE guests were in the pool!!! You would have never seen that before!! STAFF IS AMAZING as always, they do their best to make guest feel like the resort is as it used to be. IF ONLY MANAGEMENT WOULD CARE TO LISTEN!!
