Westgate Historic Williamsburg Resort

The pool open year round and jacuzzi .. activities daily all day long and Melissa the activities director went out of her way and was so sweet along with the front desk helping me with any need ., even assisting with my shopping needs for dinner from the corner market located conveniently in the front lobby and Marcus driving me in the golf cart to the pool and anywhere I needed to go .. and the fire pit they light for you in the evening

Based on the looks of the room I loved how very clean the room was.

I was very disappointed at the room. When you say it’s a Resort in my mind l saw or picture something totally different. I did not expect to see a room that looked like motel 6 That even though the room was not what l imagined however it was very clean and that got me through the weekend. I was cold when we first arrived and l was talking with a Tony B (who welcomed us)via text and he offered to have a blanket sent to our room. When the housekeeper brought the blanket it was received in a trash bag that we had no idea if it was clean or dirty. It was thrown in the trash bag and not folded. The walls were paper thin. The guest in room 150 snored all night that kept us up.

That the HVAC was down so we had to use a space heater but it wasnt a big deal to us because it wasnt cold when it wasnt on, but we also had the fireplace which was nice

We were put in one of their “villas” or “cabins” instead of staying in the main hotel. The bath room was not clean (gunk was stuck to the blinds so I couldnt touch them) and the shower leaked at the base (through a crack in the tile) which soaked the entire floor. The shower nozzle also looks like its never been cleaned once so the water pressure was poor. The room we were in had paper walls and it didnt help there was a full ring of light coming from the fully closed door. I was awoken by both neighbors and the cars on the main road several times throughout the night. Fun fact, there is also a train that runs right next to these cabins, and it runs at 2am. The thin walls leave a front row seat to train noises. The parking for these rooms is also a pain. There are four rooms to a row of villas, and theres only parking for two cars at max. The other side across from our room was a dumpster, which yes, you can hear people using in the early hours, so don’t hope to sleep in. We had to park down the road since the dumpster took up half the street, and the other guests parked in-front of our unit. The pool and hot tub were broken during the time we stayed as a cherry on top. Overall, would not call this place a resort in any context, or at least not on off season. I couldn’t imagine the noise and parking situation when every unit is in use.

Clean and comfortable rooms. Great location.
