Asbury Ocean Club Hotel

I had a beautiful experience here with my husband for a weekend getaway. It had a trendy atmosphere and everything was clean and inviting. They have a lot to do in and around the hotel. The food was amazing and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. I would absolutely come again with my husband, friends or family.

We visited on a little family getaway. Amazing hotel overlooking the ocean and boardwalk! The staff was excellent and the design/layout of the hotel was beautiful. It was cold when we went, but my daughter and I really enjoyed the heated pool. Can't wait to come back in the summer!

I had high expectations for my overnight stay at the Asbury Ocean hotel and my stay was even better than I expected. It was pure luxury from top to bottom. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely happy to help in any way they could. I got engaged the night of my stay which made it all that more special. I will definitely be coming back here again. I loved my room and the views were insane. We had a corner suite but Im sure every room is just as spectacular. From my knowledge, every room has an espresso machine, luxury robes, towels and slippers. The shower was amazing I wanted to stay in it forever but the star of the show was really the bed. I have such a hard time falling asleep at night in general but I was so comfortable I passed right out and woke up so refreshed. Just do yourself a favor and book a room. I live 30 mins away and spend a lot of time in Asbury but staying at this hotel truly made me feel like I was on vacation.

Beautiful stay. The Asbury Ocean Club feels elevated, calm, and special from the moment you arrive. The design is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully done, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a beach hotel — relaxed, polished, and effortless. The location is perfect for enjoying Asbury Park while still feeling like you have a peaceful retreat to come back to. The staff was warm, professional, and attentive. Truly a standout experience and one of the best hotel stays I’ve had on the Jersey Shore.

It was a beautiful experience even though the weather was less than ideal. Thotel and staff were exemplary and I would love to return.

We stayed at the Ocean Club off season and it was a fantastic experience - the staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant/hotel/rooms were beautiful and clean, and the food was delicious. 10/10 recommend.

The staff is friendly and helpful but the amenities are not satisfactory. Rooms are clean, the restaurants meals were about average.

Very disappointing experience for my 3-night stay from March 7 to March 10. Room Misrepresentation: I booked and paid for a “Suite, Terrace (Dune Loft)”, but the room provided was not a true suite. It was essentially one large room with no door separating the bedroom and living area. Having stayed in many suites before, this was the first “suite” I have encountered without a separate living space. Major Check-in Delay: The hotel advertised a 4:00 PM check-in, but our room was not ready until close to 6:00 PM. Traveling with a baby made this delay especially difficult. Unhelpful Arrival Service — Deb: Around 4:30 PM, front desk staff member Deb told us the room might be ready soon, but it was still unavailable when we returned. She offered a downgraded room, which we declined because it was not the room type we paid for. After that, her attitude became noticeably poor and unhelpful. Poor Guest Support — Meisha: While we waited with our baby, Meisha said there was no place available to change a diaper. She also claimed that “4 PM check-in” only means check-in begins at 4 PM and could continue until midnight, which was misleading and unacceptable for a premium hotel. Facility Issues and Resort Fees: The pool was closed and there was ongoing construction noise during the day. The hotel later treated the resort fee adjustment as “goodwill,” but these fees should not have been charged in the first place given the unavailable amenities and disruptions. Dishonest Dispute Response: After I filed an American Express dispute, the hotel claimed that I arrived at 11:30 AM expecting early check-in. That was not true. I provided a time-stamped receipt showing I was still at NJMVC at 11:54 AM on the day of arrival. American Express ultimately fully reversed the charge after reviewing the evidence. Verdict: This property fails to meet Amex FHR standards. If they cannot honor basic check-in/out benefits or provide honest service, they should be removed from the FHR program. Better staff training and management oversight are clearly needed.

Very nice looking hotel. Restaurant says they have gluten free options but they are not all really gluten free. The flatbread gluten free was delicious but If fries are made in the same oil as non gluten items then that’s not gluten free. Found hair in hamburger which was replaced with new burger but no compensation.

I spent roughly $2,000 for a 4-night stay at The Asbury Ocean Club Hotel expecting a luxury coastal experience, but the reality didn’t match the price point. The biggest issue was the “partial ocean view” room. The balcony overlooked an active construction site that significantly obstructed the view, and the windows were so filthy that it made the entire experience feel neglected. I even made 3 separate requests to 3 separate staff members to have the glass cleaned, and they never got around to doing it. For a hotel positioning itself as upscale, basic presentation and maintenance should not be overlooked. The restaurant was equally disappointing. I had the tuna tartare my first evening there, and it was probably the worst versions of the dish I’ve ever had — forgettable at best, unpleasant at worst — not fresh, and who puts strawberries in tuna tartare? Definitely not what you'd expect from a property in this price range. The hotel itself has potential, and some aspects of the design are nice (probably the best hotel fitness center I've ever experienced, with actual barbells, Peloton bikes, and even some CrossFit-type equipment) but overall the experience felt overpriced and underdelivered. At this level, guests expect transparency, attention to detail, and a stay that actually feels premium.
