Asbury Ocean Club Hotel

My husband and I had a phenomenal experience. It was so peaceful. The food was phenomenal and the people were so friendly.

Watch out for added costs and they don’t have much room for storage of your clothes and beach gear so pack light! Staff is very nice but not able to help with your issues

The Asbury Ocean Club meets all expectations. From the warm welcoming upon arrival, a spacious well appointed room with a terrace overlooking the Dunes, a rainfall shower, and a generous amount of space to work if needed, relax outdoors, and sleep in an oversized very comfortable bed. The rooms were very clean, no noise whatsoever, an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're at a resort, very good service, and a location that cant be beat! We will be back!

Gorgeous bar, amazing staff, great place

Front desk staff Deb and Meisha were unprofessional, dismissive, and rude throughout our stay. We were traveling with a baby, yet their attitude and lack of urgency made us feel unwelcome and ignored. At check-in, Deb told us the room would likely be ready around 4:30 PM. When it was around 4:30 PM, we needed to change our baby’s diaper and asked Meisha if there was a place to do so. She said there was none. When we asked when our room would be ready, she said she did not know and that we should continue waiting, adding that it was because we did not accept the smaller room Deb had suggested. During the conversation, Meisha also stated that a 4 PM check-in “means it starts at 4 PM,” and that guests could potentially have to wait until as late as 12 AM for a room, which was unreasonable. We had booked the Suite, Terrace (Dune Loft), but the room we received was essentially just one large room with no door separating the bedroom and living area, which does not match the typical expectation of a suite. At check-in, I also checked online and saw that this room type and even higher categories were available. Despite our room not being ready at 4 PM, they refused to provide a complimentary upgrade and only offered a downgrade with a partial refund. In the end, we were not able to check in until close to 6 PM. At check-out, we asked Deb to call a bellman. She said she would, but after waiting about 10 minutes no one arrived. When I went downstairs, I saw the bellman already there, which made it clear the request had not been made. Overall, Deb and Meisha’s conduct was unacceptable and far below the level of service expected from this property. I hope management reviews this situation seriously and provides appropriate training.

If you’re debating staying here, just do it. We visited this March and loved how peaceful it felt. It’s the perfect mix of modern luxury and coastal chill. Great food, great rooms, and a really high-end feel without being pretentious. One of those rare finds that makes you want to come back every year.

Overall our stay was not a high end experience at all and we were really disappointed. Starting from our room, the deluxe partial ocean view room overlooked a parking lot. When we asked to have a different room we were downgraded to a dune terrace room. Management said that was the only room available even though I saw many more rooms available to book online. When switching rooms we asked for help but there was no bellhop to help us and the poor front desk girl said she would have to do it herself so of course we had to lug it around ourself. There was extremely loud booming construction going on the ENTIRE time. It drove us insane to listen to it all day. And then there was NO mention that the pool and roof were going to be closed, and yet we were still charged a $50+ resort fee per night which is the same in the summer which makes absolutely no sense. In no shape or form was this a 4 star hotel ”luxury” experience, and truly a disappointing way to spend a birthday.
