Aparthotel Imperatriz

Lovely staff and very helpful. Food in the attached restaurant was excellent. Breakfast choice was very limited and would benefit with the addition of pastries/croissants. Great Location. Bad Points- There's clearly a problem with ants in the hotel, I stayed in room 102 and they were everywhere, in the fridge, bathroom, on the beds. I woke up covered in bites. The staff were very helpful and immediately moved rooms for me (to 105). This room also had ants in there but they seemed confined to the bathroom so I just put up with them for the remainder of my stay. The room was quite hot as there is no air con and both rooms were very noisy as they overlooked the road. The rooms were clean and cleaned regularly. Overall the stay was fine, just the ants situation put a dampener on the stay.

Elka and Peter from Carlow, Ireland We spent seven wonderful days in Madeira. We stayed at the Aparthotel Imperatriz, Funchal. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Madeira and have a peaceful and enjoyable stay there. We were warmly welcomed there and wonderfully looked after throughout our stay. The room was very well equipped: kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave, cutlery and cooking utensils. We personally only used the fridge for fruits, as the hotel is next door to the wonderful restaurant "Bernini" with a very rich menu, they also offer a breakfast buffet. You can enter the restaurant directly from the reception. They are only separated by a door. The bathroom is huge, equipped with a bath, shower, bidet, hairdryer, etc. The room was cleaned thoroughly daily, bed linen and towels were changed daily. The receptionist Claudia was very kind and helped us choose and book 3 day excursions and a catamaran tour, for which we are very grateful. The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of Funchal and is next to some of the best restaurants. The central pier can be reached on foot in just 15 minutes, passing through a beautiful city park with diverse and very beautiful vegetation. There are hop-on hop-off bus stops in both directions near the hotel.

Stayed for a week in September, lovely clean hotel, great location. We booked a seaview room and it was a fantastic place to sit on the balcony and look out on the view. Highly recommend this hotel, great value for money too.

The young woman with a big smile at reception was most helpful , I tried to minimize work for the lovely lady cleaning , one day I had an ants problem and in cleaning it the management decided as i was alone take the extra towel although I did not ask for room cleaning every day . I bought another one - the male gent at reception was brusque and gave me incorrect information regarding buses the day I left - very surley . In general one would feel Madiera has been over exposed to tourists and doesn't need to try at this basic level ... which is a pity as for the most part the Island depends on it .

De ligging was op loopafstand (20 minuten) naar het oude centrum van Funchal. Het dakterras was heerlijk om aan het eind van de dag te relaxen of even af te koelen in het zwembad. Vriendelijk personeel. De kamer was prima qua leefruimte. Parkeergarage onder het hotel. Alhoewel erg krap, we hadden een grote auto.

Het hotel is gedateerd. In de badkamer zat schimmel. Voor de rest wel schoon. Wij zaten aan de achterkant (hadden door omstandigheden laat genoekt) en hadden de afzuigpijp van een keuken vlak bij ons balkon. In de avond de schuifpui open was door de etenslucht niet aangenaam.

Geen ontbijt genomen, maar het avondeten was erg goed

Posizione, piscina, staff disponibilissimo e professionale, stanza vista mare.

La colazione poteva essere più varia ma è comunque tutto buono.
