Great place with old school Daytona Beach vibes

It’s in a very nice location. We had a room beachfront so that was wonderful. We went in August. It has a good layout in the room. It is kind of outdated in old after first few days. It did have kind of an odor in the room. Daytona Beach is high tide most days where we were staying so you could walk on the beach but as far as going out and just sitting, it was hard to do it rained while we were there so that might’ve had something to do with it it was clean. It just seemed like it’s a little outdated And a odor. But the price you pay it is exactly what you’re gonna get.

Would stay again.. Nice pool area.. rooms are a littke outdated, tearing down the wall paper and a fresh cost of paint would do wonders.. other than that not a bad place

The rokns smell bad like mildew. There were roaches in the room . The refrigerator did not work. And the front desk guy was rude. Never stay there again.

This hotel is so nice with amazing amenities like two pools, hot tub, nice patio areas with chairs, lounges, tables, umbrellas and easy beach access. They need to provide pool towels, though. Out main complaint is that we literally got NO hot water in our shower AT ALL. We called around 10pm for assistance from the 24hr front desk and got no answer, so we took cold showers. In the morning, we called and were told very abruptly that we had not waited long enough for the hot water to descend from the 8th floor boiler which takes 30+ minutes. We tried waiting that long and got warm (not hot) water in the sink, but still no warm water in the tub/shower. This is something they need to address, not just tell the customer we didn’t wait long enough. Maybe step into the 21st century and upgrade your hot water system, since you are aware there is a problem!

Check in was easy. Cora gave me all the details I needed except where our room was located. We finally found it in adjacent building. Then we had to call maintenance twice to get into our room when the keys failed to open the door. It was a known problem. Ocean views were awesome and the off shore breeze made it comfortable when I sat in the shade.

Balcony was very small and the air conditioner was loud.

Sun Viking Lodge is a great property for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, my room door was broken and they booked the room anyway. The front desk immediately sent maintenance up and I heard maintenance tell the front desk that it’s the door they can’t fix. My son and I had to push and pull VERY hard on the door to open and close it. I understand things happen, but my issue is that the property owner/manager has not fixed it while continuing to rent it out. In an emergency, it could be dangerous.
