The bed was very comfortable, and the views from the spa are amazing

The breakfast was disappointing – the potato bread and soda bread were inedible. The rooms were far too hot, and with no air conditioning I wouldn't stay again in that level of heat. Don't expect a modern luxury hotel either – it's quite old-fashioned and dated.

Room was delightfully classic, even the telephone was intentionally vintage. Felt like I was stepping back into time, which I liked! Still had uptodate amenties, including streaming. Breakfast was very good each day. Staff were kind and helpful. (They also had Irish accents, which is no longer the case in many hotels in Ireland today.) Location was right near Newcastle N. Ireland, a small resort town so I could walk to everything. I've been wanting to stay at the hotel for over 20 years and was finally able to do so - and it did not disappoint.

The stairs before the lift there should have been a ramp to the side for heavy suitcases for easier access to the lift
