Breakfast was great ,rooms were comfortable. Location is incredible.

The extra payment for bringing a dog is not mentioned until you book. There was a dog welcome pack due with the booking and I had to request it from reception, dog bed and bowls etc. The room was set as a double bed so I had to request the beds to be separated aswell. The spa could improve the surroundings, paintwork etc.

Superb stay. We were married 10 years ago here. There has been alot of change since then. We loved every part of it. Dinner in Percy was superb. Love the new menu. Crab linguine is a must. Hotel bar atmosphere is first class and live entertainment was great to see. Best pool/spa 👌. Views to die for. Staff all very friendly and attentive.. Will defo be back.

Booked a family room with sea view. Had contacted in advance to ask about double double rooms, because it wasn't clear on the website whether that applied to all family rooms or not, and that's what we wanted. Arrived to be told ours wasnt, and they wouldn't move us to a double double and so it was partly a sofa bed. Not great when you're spending £650 for one night. The reception staff also obviously do not care in the slightest about giving a good customer experience. The room itself is probably designed to be atmospheric but is gloomy, not helped by the fact they didn't remove any of the furnitue from the room when they folded out a sofa bed, so it was crammed with extra chairs and coffee tables. The paintwork on the walls was chipped, the sink in the bathroom didn't hold water, the toilet was stained, the lighting was dingy, the bathroom door squeaked so loud you didn't really want to use it when anyone else was sleeping or everyone would be woken up. Beyond the shabby appearance, there was no thought that had gone into the customer experience. Simple things like being able to dry your hair in front of a mirror was impossible. You'd typically expect to have lots of lovely touches when you book a hotel costing that much, but there were none of these at all. It was totally void of thought. The best you could hope for was a couple of cartons of water and a shower cap, which I think you can also expect in any budget 3*. The breakfast was adequate, but we stayed in some pretty average 4*s on our trip and my 7yr olds review was that this breakfast was the worst. This is a hotel that's sitting on its laurels and relying on the architecture and view to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Thank god for the pool. Overall I feel completely conned out of a large amount of money. If you're looking for a special, thoughtful, treat experience - this is NOT it. When I checked out they asked how the stay was. I said, 'it was okkkk....' and they didn't care or ask any questions despite an obviously underwhelmed response. Which tells you all you need to know about how nuch they care - not at all. Location is good. Pool is good. Views are good. Hotel isn't. Depends if the first three are worth the money for you.

Slieve Donard is in my opinion the best hotel on the island of Ireland. Have not been for a few years. It could not been better. The food, room, staff and the views 10 out of 10! I will be back much sooner!

Breakfast was well below what i would expect for a 5 star hotel. Very poor indeed.

The staff weren't great Air con didn't work Jacuzzi didn't work Bar food selection was poor Long queues for breakfast buffet No conditioner in spa showers Everything looked worn, scuffed, cracked or broken and the whole hotel could do with a paint For the prices being paid id expect a lot more.
