The place was clean and friendly. It's close to everything. We go down on our motorcycle. Can't wait to go back next year. We cooked in more this year.
USRooms are nice especially for families with kids or dogs. Can tell older hotel. Toilet was a little tilted, furniture had stains & holes, could hear noise from rooms above ( kids running or heavy walking).
USIt could have been more clean I noticed some bugs in hallways crawling on walls.
Warning: Avoid Roach Motel Marriott TownePlace Suites, Springfield, VA 6245 Brandon Ave, Springfield, VA 22150 I would give no stars to this roach motel if I could. It is an absolute dump! About a month ago, my family and I checked into what we thought would be a decent mid-range Marriott property while waiting to close on our new home. Instead, we walked into the worst hotel experience of our lives -- a true roach motel. From the start, the first room smelled like something had died in it -- hot, sticky, and clearly unoccupied for a long time. The second room wasn't much better: dingy carpets, old stained furniture, a grimy outdated kitchenette with stained pots, and a pool so filthy that our kids got sick after swimming in it. Housekeeping was supposed to come every other day but often skipped us entirely. When they did come, some staff behaved suspiciously around our valuables -- and one day, our laptop went missing, only to reappear moments later in a place we had already searched. We never accused anyone, even apologizing for reporting it, but after that, it was clear the staff had turned hostile. On our last day, a cleaner vacuumed one square foot of the floor, left for "lunch," then returned with a translator to yell at me from the doorway. When I called the front desk, the so-called general manager sided with the cleaner, accused us of "complaining too much," and demanded that my family -- including two elderly relatives and two children -- vacate the property immediately, even threatening to call the police. I contacted Marriott corporate expecting professionalism, but they took the GM's word at face value, offered only a refund for one day, and closed the case. No apology. No accountability. We took a video showing all the evidence to prove that our story is true. We took a video of the uncleaned room and the vacuum that wa left in our room. But none of that was taken into consideration by Marriott Corporate! Bottom line: This location is dirty, unprofessional, and downright hostile to paying guests. Marriott's corporate response showed they don't care about customer safety or satisfaction. We will never stay at a Marriott again. If you value cleanliness, respect, and basic decency -- stay far away from Marriott TownePlace Suites in Springfield, VA.
The first room we were assigned had broken furniture, a dirty bathroom and mold all over the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. They moved us rooms after we told them about the mold but the second room didn’t have an oven that I needed, looked like it had the ceiling repaired several times and not well. The AC weren’t reliable, we asked for extra linens and blankets for the pull out and only got sheets and pillow cases. The pool wasn’t open everyday as advertised because they could only operate it when the manager was there which was very disappointing. The door handle on our room didn’t work right and kept jamming.
The property has difficult parking due to fencing up as a result of nearby construction. At night it is difficult to see the remaining spots to park. Back entrance to hotel goes through construction site. Not the hotels fault but its a concern for guests new to area.
